Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

Would like to see him live as from watching on tv it appears that his movement is one of his best assets.
Yes his movement is top class.
He must be a nightmare to mark as he's all over the place dropping deep one minute, springing offside traps the next, popping up on the left and right, twisting and turning.
He seems to get quite a few headed goals which is impressive for a 5'9" player. He relies on timing and getting separation from markers to get his opportunities and keeps his cool in front of goal so well for a lad who's only 20.

City have got a great talent in him. I can easily see him becoming a goal machine but I can also see him leaving city the moment barca or madrid come calling. So city be ready for that.

Have they sold anyone to either of those clubs since they've had the money? I think their aim is to compete with those clubs so I don't see why they'd sell one of their best players to either club.

To be fair De Bruynes delivery is perfect. Wished we had someone with that sort of precision.

There were many factors due to which they did not sell. First, no top team came for aguero or silva because real, barca both had enough talent but now with ronaldo ageing, bale's form declining and benzema becoming average, don't be surprised if real madrid come calling for jesus when he becomes a goal machine. Same with barca, they need a proper number 9 and may eventually come after jesus.

Yes that does not mean city will sell but jesus being a Brazilian will have a eventual dream of playing for one of the spanish clubs once they actively start pursuing him.

Not even close. They're just overloading their forward positions while neglecting everywhere else.
Erm ederson Mendy walker danillo seem like decent upgrades as well... they could probably do with a central midfielder (or 2 if the docs cant fix gundogan) and a central defender (or 2) but they have thw money and I fully expect them to fix those holes over the next couple of Windows

Seems to dribble less since converting to a striker and he is a good dribbler. Still pulls off the ocassional flick but I hope he start incorporating it back into his game once he completely settles at City.

For a small lad, very brave. Flings himself into every 50/50. Unusual for a brazilian.

I just love this kid, I really hope his injuries are just a part of adapting to European football and maybe some lack of knowledge on how to prepare his body year-round (which he has and will undoubtedly keep getting at City). He's just a few injuries away from becoming that guy that's so good when he's fit but is almost never healthy, a la Louis Saha (I miss that guy).

I was thinking this, his dribbling was one of the things focused on during his highlight videos but in reality he's more like a very good version of Javier Hernandez.

He's brilliant. I hope he doesn't pull an Aguero/Silva and stay at City at his peak.

Why is it unusual for Brazilian? Many Brazillian star is fearless. Just because some high profile player like Rivaldo, Neymar Alves... are diver, doesn't mean all Brazillian stars are pussy and can't ride a challenge. Between high profile Brazillian stars I believe those brave ones outnumbered these bad eggs.

Ronaldinho and R9 had no fear of challenges either, it's a strange stereotype for sure.

He's had one injury and it was due to the way he landed in a play, so I don't know why people make it seem he's regularly getting injured.

He throws himself into every challenge and gets bruised. It's Robsonesque. No one else does that.

Rafael did and SAF referred him to Robson.

Brazillian Ronaldo was not shy from putting his body to protect the ball either.

I seem to recall reading somewhere there is a tacit pact between Man City and the Spanish clubs not to aggressively pursue each other's players. This conspiracy theory may explain why no major high profile moves either way if you think about it.

Even if it's not true; the Spanish clubs will now be wary of getting Neymared in revenge. So, basically I think it's unlikely we will see a peak Jesus leave unfortunately.

Madrid and Barca went for very best players. When they came for Ronaldo he was the best player in the world and a Ballon D'or winner, when they came for De Gea he was arguably the best GK in the world or at worst top 3.

Don't think City had any player who was the best in the world. They had Aguero but Madrid had Benzema who is more suited for Madrid style and Perez's pet IIRC.

Barca could have gone for Aguero, rather than Suarez. Silva could have suited Madrid at some point.

Well, it could just be a conspiracy theory. But it seems a bit fishy, when there isn't even any noise through these years about players moving in either direction. And I mean zero, unless someone can kindly point out to me.

I'm not talking about those players that are offloads, and for mutual benefit, like Yaya from Barca, the keeper from Barca or Danilo from Real.

Suarez at this best played better than Aguero and his injury record is far better. Also I was talking about Madrid as I don't think Barca can bully any club apart from Liverpool and Arsenal. Now they can't even do that to Liverpool.

Madrid had Ozil playing as #10 who was arguably the best when he was at Madrid, then added Bale. Don't think they had any need of Silva when they later added Isco. Silva was fantastic player and thought he suited Barca much better than Madrid.

Re player offloads, it's just business. You pay the asking price, you buy the player like we signed Di Maria.

Don't agree with Suarez. Aguero was world class for longer than Suarez was, and he is more of a Barca player + Argie.

Silva > Isco at the time for sure.

Barca will still turn the head of most players in the EPL. You don't think Lukaku would choose Barca over Man Utd? Or KDB would prefer Barca over Man City?

If I were running things: it would suit all parties to have a tacit little unwritten agreement, and I wouldn't put it past them. Lowers overall salaries, not worry about too aggressive transfer moves.

It's about which player would choose which team, it's about bullying clubs to buy player, don't think Barca have financial power to do that.

This unwritten rule seems bs to me.

This thread is funny in context, would you ever see a thread like this on bluemoon or RAWK about a United player?

Barca apparently wanted Kun ahead of Suarez but were politely told you can't afford him according to Zubizareta.

I just think Aguero really likes it at City. Rather be a big fish is a smaller pond then to be just another striker at Barca.
I don't think there is a pact but the Spanish clubs may not want to rock the boat so to speak, but also atm we haven't a single player who'd get in Madrid's team except maybe Kun for Benzema. So given what our players would cost why would Real shell out huge money on subs.

Barca I think we may have a good relationship with for obvious reasons. I also feel we again though have very few who would start for them. Maybe KDB in midfield and Sane on the left wing now Dembele is injured.
Again the cost to take one of our players as opposed to how much game time they would receive would be stupidly high.

Probably not. Probably also a massive reason why so many opposition fans are on this forum - the football forum is generally quite objective. Or as objective as a club forum can get.

Very true. It's a great forum.

Scary talent. His transition from the wings to a CF has been nothing short of spectacular. Comes in a position that Brazil have been crying out for, for a while now.

Neymar G.Jesus Willian

Great talent. A year older than the much underrated Rashford mind.

The PL has some exciting young players at the moment.

As I understand it we have an awful relationship with them since Pep arrived.
Others on here have more inside knowledge than me but Pep/Txixi and Ferran are in the Laporta camp and have no love for the club as long as the current regime are in situ.

@Gentleman Jim - Ah cool, hopefully Messi feels the same and that's why he was quizzing Maffeo during the game the last night.

He's taken a healthy interest in us these last couple of years but I'm sure that it's 98% certain that he irons out his issues and stays at Barca.
The two clubs have been sniffing around each other's youth squads, though.
We've nicked Eric Garcia and targeted Xavi Simons as there is a feeling that their Academy is not the force it was.

The City involvement in Girona up the road is another irritant to Barca.

For their part Barca President Bartomeu has been stirring the pot regarding City's ownership
