Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

He's a decent passers, holds the ball up well, is a decent finisher and defend from the front, also has great movement to create gaps for other players to exploit

Young player has a bad run of form in front of goal. Shock.

Bout feckin time they get an injury.

Note for the sensitive souls - it’s a joke.

I wouldn't judge him too harshly for the tears, guess the fear of not being fit for the world cup especially if that is his first serious injury.

You guys complain all day that players do not care but, then criticize guys for showing spontaneous emotion like crying.

Yeah I thought that at time. My Dad was watching the game with me in the pub and was calling him all sorts of names.

Haven't really followed this thread but to me he's one of the best young players for club and country in world football.

It reminds me of the other Gabriel who move to europe from Brazil at the same time. He was being hyped more than Jesus. Hardly played at Inter Milan and no idea who he plays for now.

Gabriel Barbosa aka Gabigol, playing for Benfica iirc

He's another Chicarito benefiting from youthful energy and an attacking system.

He's nothing like Hernandez. Just because his goals tend to be 'tap-ins' or relatively simple finishes, doesn't mean that's his only contribution to the team.

Anyway, he's out for a minimum of six weeks, up to a few months potentially. Wonder how this will impact the Sanchez deal. Seems we were willing to wait until the end of the season but Sanchez apparently wants the move now, for obvious reasons, and with Jesus injured and Aguero out of form I imagine Pep might be tempted. A lot depends on Arsenal though, and how much they'd be willing to accept in January. Unless they accept a pretty nominal fee I can't imagine it'll happen this window.

How badly do you, personally, want him?

I gather if it costs you Aguero, you're not a fan? But if it doesn't, do you think it upsets the balance of your team? You're in pretty fine tune right now, who does he replace? How will they feel? You already have a very talented player sitting on the bench in Bernardo. Give him minutes to adjust while the rest of your team is in good sync?

So how does Pep rotate Aguero now? I dont think Aguero’s injury problems are just going to go away either.

Yeah that's the one. He was hardly playing at Inter. Just had a look at wiki and seems he's only played one game for Benfica so far. Our Portuguese posters can fill us in a bit more of course.

Very good player, a bit out of form recently, but he is still young. He is well rounded, comparing him to Chicharito is an insult. If injuries dont ruin him, he will have a nice career without a doubt

I'm not sure to be honest. I really rate him and was quite keen on us signing him in the summer but as you say, I don't want him at the expense of Aguero regardless of who'd be a better fit in Pep's system. I don't think he'd upset the team's balance, I'd be pretty confident he'd improve it to be honest. Aguero is out of form, Jesus is injured, he could thrive in that central role for us. Especially considering he should already have assimilated Pep's ideas. Bernardo is competing with Sane and Sterling rather than the central players so shouldn't impact his development either. So, I'm ambivalent really. I love Aguero so would be loathe to see him suffer but equally I accept Sanchez might prove a better fit in this side.

He’s nothing like Chicharito. He’s stocky and strong, can play the build up, hold up the ball. IIRC Chicharito was paperweight and non existant with his back to the defender.

So how does John Moss feel about denying Jesus care when he went down injured? This should be grounds for dismissal.

Someone as a false nine I imagine. Quite a few who've featured there under Pep already such as Sterling, de Bruyne (and under Pellegrini once or twice I seem to recall), both Silva's.

Has Jesus kicked on this season? A lot of players have impressed at City this season (Ederson, Walker, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling (goals) and Sane) but Jesus seems to be a bit part despite from what I can tell be favoured over Aguero

After watching him for a while, it is true that he brings more to City's collective play than Aguero.

The guys one of the best young talents in football, so glad it's only small rather than major, hopefully he's out for weeks rather than months.
