Gaa 2013

I believe Mayo will beat Tyrone on Sunday. But if Tyrone are within 3 pts going into the last 10 mins, I would then fancy them to just scrape a win. However, I have never seen a Mayo team look so focused, therefore I predict them to win by 3-4 pts, but after a spirited effort by Tyrone to try & close a 5-7 pts gap in last 10 mins.

D'ont miss the minor game.. My beloved Mons taking on Mayo in what could be a high scoring cracker. Both teams are great "attacking" outfits.

Of course I predict Monaghan to win their 1st minor semi since 1945.;)

Then again, knowing my predictions, Mayo will prob win a dour low scoring affair by 0-7 to 0-6!

Somehow, I think it will be a high scoring cracker, with plenty of goals. C'mon the Farney!

Unlucky in the minor game STG, I didn't get to see it so listened in instead and sounded like a good game. We lead from start to finish so I suppose you can't argue with the result, but the commentator seemed impressed by the style of football from both teams which was good to hear. It's pretty much all I look for from this level.

We seem to have a decent outfit this year though I can't profess to know too much about them unfortunately. It's great to know before a senior semi final that we're being represented on All Ireland final day no matter what.

That link is working the finest, man. Happy days.

The closer it gets to throw-in, the more I'm leaning towards Tyrone to make a game of it. Donegal were septic the last day and it's hard to gauge Mayo on that result. Tyrone are battle-hardened and have multiple All-Ireland winners in their team. Mayo's games thus far have all been over by half-time. It remains to be seen whether they have the bottle for a tough battle in the last ten minutes of a match. Tyrone relish those situations and I'd fancy them if it got to that scenario again.

Only one team has shown up so far. Can't believe we've lost O'Connor already again, massive blow.

Some point by McCurry there. Mayo were well overrated before the match, and losing O'Connor is a big blow for them. They're shaken.

Their support play has been poor, in attacking sense at least. The marauding runs from half-backs and midfielders haven't materialised today as in earlier games. Tyrone are doing well it must be said.

O'Neill down? Would be a big blow for them.

Ref didn't play advantage. feck sake, just like Armagh earlier in the year against Cavan. Tyrone very lucky there.

Refereeing of this game is shocking. Very obvious third man tackle on O'Shea there and point stands.

What's the story with Aidan O'Shea, GM? He strikes me as a lad who believes in his own hype a lot, and sees himself as a bit of a celebrity.

Yeah he's had that vibe since minor. I thought it was gone from him this year until he started tweeting Brian O'Driscoll after the Donegal game. He needs to mature is all I think.

Bad end to the half for Tyrone there. Mayo getting the last 3 scores of the half will give them confidence.

Very poor first half from our point of view, it's just not happened. Harte has done his homework, and Tyrone started really well.

That said, we completely dominated the last 20 minutes there. We just need to maintain that for the full 35 minutes second half and see where it takes us. There won't be more than a point or two in this second half.

Meh, one good game is all they've shown us. Tyrone by 6 points.

I've seen a fair few people saying stuff like this about Mayo coming into the game and it makes no sense.

Why not mention the fact that Tyrone have only beaten three division 4 teams plus Kildare so far? Or does that not just feed into the narrative?

I'm typing this while fully aware I'm very wound up after seeing that first half. feck you mayoses

Because Mayo have been hyped up way more that Tyrone have. One of the lads in the studio said Mayo are one of the best teams he's seen, can't remember which one though.

Hyped up by people outside of Mayo. We're doing all we can not to hype ourselves up - we have excitable fans who just love the day out and going on the piss, but nowhere near on the scale of Dublin (as an example).

I wouldn't take too much notice of hype, my comment on mayoses post was made on the assumption that it was an objective point regardless of hype.

The reason people are saying it is in reaction to the sudden love in. If the shite printed this week was believed this game would be over now with Tyrone crying all the way home.

So no, denigrating Tyrone any further doesn't fit into the narrative. The narrative that decided Tyrone didn't have a chance. Brolly said before the game the Mayo display against Donegal was one of the best he's ever seen. He hasn't watched as many matches as I thought he had.

The reason people are saying anything about Mayo not being all that is in reaction to the sudden love in. If the shite printed this week was believed this game would be over now with Tyrone crying all the way home.

The border with Mayo is the worst thing about Sligo.

Ara shtop. I was working in Mayo all last week, 80% of what I heard was there.

See my post above.

Most of Mayo don't even know we border Sligo. Sligo are irrelevant.

Disingenuous. Your earlier post said "If the shite printed this week was believed this game would be over now with Tyrone crying all the way home." Does that mean that 80% of everything you heard was material written in Mayo?

No I can read and listen, I'm a talented guy.

1-5 without reply now. This is better, but Tyrone are still in with a massive say here.

Tyrone just don't seem to have the forwards.

Those last two wides were bad(Donnelly and Cavanagh). Do Tyrone have 5 more points in them over Mayo? I don't think so unfortunately. They'll need a goal imo.
