Gaa 2013

Can we have a Caf competition as to who will predict the winners of the hurling and football All-Irelands? Whoever predicts both gets a prize? (Tagline or something?)

There's only about ten posters who regularly post in this thread so I'm sure there's one who'll get both correct.

Mongyo and Claire

edit: I just want a new tagline. The missus keeps asking me why I have 'skilled creeper' below my name.

(could'nt post for a while, "log in" problems).

Ok, Limerick (Minors) Mngt seeking a replay, due to a bad Hawk-eye error. Well, I disagree. Anyone watching will surely agree, that in the 2nd half, the Ref gave incredible decisions in favour of Limerick ( not Limericks fault), obviously he was given a "word in the ear" ala nudge/nudge/wink/wink style.
Then the icing on the cake. . . the final "puck-out" (already 15 secs. over additional time), the ref gave an unbelievable easy Free to Limerick, which they duly pointed to bring the game to ET. I believe if the Ref was "fair" in the second half, Galway would have won by 3 to 4 pts (-1, Hawk-eye's error).

I believe Mayo will beat Tyrone on Sunday. But if Tyrone are within 3 pts going into the last 10 mins, I would then fancy them to just scrape a win. However, I have never seen a Mayo team look so focused, therefore I predict them to win by 3-4 pts, but after a spirited effort by Tyrone to try & close a 5-7 pts gap in last 10 mins.

D'ont miss the minor game.. My beloved Mons taking on Mayo in what could be a high scoring cracker. Both teams are great "attacking" outfits.

Of course I predict Monaghan to win their 1st minor semi since 1945.;)

Then again, knowing my predictions, Mayo will prob win a dour low scoring affair by 0-7 to 0-6!

Somehow, I think it will be a high scoring cracker, with plenty of goals. C'mon the Farney!

Hope all the red handers will be shouting for the Farney minors on Sunday STG.

What about your predictions for the Football and Hurling winners?

I was in the same predicament last year and this is what I did. Rang all the counties known for football rather than hurling on the list below or even go a step further and google the shit out of some clubs in them counties as well. They'll all be getting tickets and the vast majority of them will be given to Clare and Cork. Plead with who ever it is that answers the phone to hold onto a ticket or two when the get them and you never know. Last year I did this and I got two Hill tickets from whoever it was that answered the phone from the Sligo county board.

I'll never forget the shot of excitement that ran through me when they said they could get me two tickets but I'd have to drive down to Sligo for them. This was on the Friday before the final, I left a fecking cloud of dust behind me the whole way from Gort to Sligo that evening, I was like fecking Road Runner in a Datsun Sunny.

Here's the list anyways, make it a bit handy...

Nice one pal.

Kerry for the football & Cork for the hurling...and as Davy Fitzgerald is such a chronic fecking bellend, I hope Clare get absolutely whipped in the process.

I doubt any of ye will be that interested in it but the U21 Hurling semi-final is on tomorrow evening below in Thurlas (on TG4 at 6pm), Galway are taking on Clare and my cousin is playing for Galway, Adrian Tuohy. Clare are red hot favorites and rightly so I suppose but the two sides have a lot of players who clashed at minor level a few years ago and Galway got the better of them then so you never know. Galway are 4/1 for anyone that fancies thrown an aul' tenner on them. I'll be heading down to it so I won't be around tomorrow in case any of ye are wondering where I am or if something has happened me. See ye lads...

I'm not a member of the Davy Fitz fan club either. He's like the mourinho of hurling. Pure marmite.

<3 Davy. Remember as a young fella at Thurles when he'd come out and start lashing the crossbar and posts, eyes bulging.

I think the football will be a Mayo/Dublin final, with Dublin winning.

In the hurling, I'd guess at a Clare win.

Minor football, I expect an all Connacht final of Mayo/Roscommon. That would be a great day for the province - has it happened for any other province since the back-door system was introduced to minor?

Its good to have the football back, isn't it? Looking forward to the match tomorrow.

Dublin for the football and Clare for the hurling. My tagline will be Tyrone are thugs.

That'll be Irwin's if he doesn't win. Or if he does.

I'd have Mayo the least likely of the four to be honest. Maybe because the place is full of Cnuts.

Being a Monaghan Man, whose county who lost out to Tyrone. . . I would have nothing but praise/respect for the Tyrone team & its people. All teams use cynism, if we are totally honest.

Portlaoise lost their first Laois SF championship match for since the semifinal of 2006 tonight. Their quest for 7-in-a-row is on the rocks, but not yet dead. They play a qualifier round now to get to the QFs. Early in the second half, they were up by 12 points but Graiguecullen reeled them back in, clinching the win with a last-minute goal. Graigue have already won the Kelly Cup ("pre-season" cup) and the Division 1 titles (first since 1975), so their stock is definitely rising.

David McInerney could go on to be one of the best full-backs of his generation. He was immense yesterday, as he has been all year.

Three man of the matches in-a-row between 21s and senior now. Although he played corner-back v Limerick. He and Tony Kelly have the potential to be greats in their positions.

Some performance from our young lads here. Would be great to see two Mayo teams in the All Ireland final, even better still if the Rossie minors can get there too.

Nervous now. Got a bit drunk earlier on so need to get my shit together to concentrate on the game now

Did you manage to locate a stream, GM? I've PMed you one there anyway in case. The F1 channel is still on at the moment but the football is going to be shown at 3.30pm apparently.

Looking forward to this now. Hoping for a cracker.

Cheers mate. Looking forward to a cracker too.

Actually, was expecting a cracker there about 10 minutes ago but shite's gone soft.
