Gaa 2012

I've seen that in a lot of games this year feeky. Teams going for goals with 9-10 mins to go. Poor managment TBH.

take the scores always always....

Obviously if your are over 10 points behind into the last ten mins go for broke but always take the easy points up to the

momentum is priceless coming into the last few mins of a game

What a rubbish Connacht final. As a Mayo man, happy to win it but that was a shocking performance.

Might not be a bad thing though, expectation will be dampened somewhat now. Hopefully we can make another semi final this year, I think that should be about the extent of our realistic ambition. Would be nice to see us put in one decent performance against a decent side in Croke Park, similar to last year's against Cork.

Connacht champions though, minimum aim reached for the year.

Sligo did OK, they needed Mayo to be off, which they were, but not enough. Poor little Sligo. Mayo out the next game they play.

Where are you from Gee Male?

High challenge on a Westmeath player through on goal, and the Kerry commentators said 'he done the right thing'. cnuts.

Westmeath equalised from the free.

Kerry get another free that also puzzles the commentators. And then a line ball that even the Kerrymen say was Westmeaths. Galvin puts them 2 clear. Wankers.

Kerry radio blaming rustiness, even though they have been playing ordinary for the best part of a year and a half, bar the odd performence.

Cynical fouling is a scourge in the GAA. Pulling someone down through on goal is basically rewarded every time. In the Cork-Clare Munster final, Cork twice hauled down Clare players through on goal, Clare were too naive and conceded 3 goals on the back of Cork players sauntering through.

Jaysus, don't be calling the GAA cynical in this thread? It is all about honour, you must have it mixed up with soccer.

Good game between Tipp and Waterford. Tipp did seem to be that much more in control of things for most of it though and seemed to get their scores that bit easier in comparison to Waterford. Lar Corbett looked fierce rusty in front of goal, there was a few times I thought he could have buried it in the back of the net but instead he decided to pass and Tipp failed to score anything at all, they'll have to sort that out if they are to win an all-Ireland. Up the other end Waterford kept Cummins on his toes but unfortunately for them that goal they desperately wanted never came. Nice to see Sheasy at the game too!

Looking forward to the draw in the morning now, there'll be a few interesting fixtures to look forward to after it.

Seanie got the final point in Kildares hammering of Cavan. If I was him I'd go out on the rip in Cavan town tonight and rub it in their faces.

Code:
Westm	1-12	-	2-10	Kerry
Laois	2-12	-	0-12	Monaghan
Cavan	1-09	-	3-20	Kildare
Leitrim	0-13	-	0-10	Wicklow
Antrim	0-11	-	0-10	Galway
Tipp	1-13	-	0-15	Wexford
Rosc	0-08	-	1-16	Tyrone
Longf	1-15	-	1-21	Limerick

So in the draw for the next round you have;

Kerry
Laois
Kildare
Leitrim
Antrim
Tipperary
Tyrone
Limerick

A few handy enough games their really. Leitrim, Antrim and Limerick have no chance unless they are draw against one another. As a Tyrone man I really would like to avoid any of them as you want a tough challenge at this stage and the Roscommon game will have done us no favours. That said, I don't think I'd like to meet Kerry or Kildare yet. Maybe a tough game with Laois or a rattle at a young Tipp team would be good. If Kerry have to travel up north they could be in real trouble too.

Everyone down here hopes we draw Tyrone in the next round, the fire in the belly seems to be gone and we need a big game ala dublin in 2009 to rekindle the hunger.

I doubt the GAA would like to see that tie just yet. Knocking one of those two out a round early would be a big loss on the gates.

Would ye not consider just taking a few years off?
