Funniest film you've ever seen?

'It's too damn hot for a penguin to be just walkin' around here. I gotta send him back to the South Pole.'

Shampoo is better. I go on first and clean the hair.
Conditioner is better. I leave the hair silky and smooth.
Oh, really, fool? Really.
[Notices swan on edge of tub]
Stop looking at me, swan.

Come on, he couldn't even think correctly

I understand your point, it just grated on my nerves.

My friend and I had a similar difference of opinion with Johnny Depp in the original Pirates of the Carribean. I thought Depp was great and my friend hated the way he spoke and acted the character and couldn't enjoy the film as a result.

I found The Life Aquatic and the Royal Tennebuams hilarious, then again a few of my mates hated them. Sideways is funny as feck.

Alot depends on my mood or my consumption of weed

I enjoyed the life aquatic but I couldn't get into the royal tenenbaums.

Yeah I forgot about Wes Anderson.

Add Rushmore to that list as well.

Funniest film you've ever seen?

Funniest is a tough call - but I do like silly humour as well, as anyone.

Life of Brian
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Something About Mary - Yes, a Ben Stiller film!
Modern Times
Dumb and Dumber
Trading Places
Stir Crazy
My Cousin Vinny (I loved Jo Pesci in this)
Prodigal Son - Martial Arts film.
Some Like it Hot
The Apartment
The Party
Clerks 1 and 2.
I thought Bowfinger was hilarious too - must be the only one.

Won't piss me off if you thought they were shite, frankly.

Bolded the films i found hilarious.

Pesci is one of my favourite actors he's brilliant.

Dumb and Dumber never ceases to make me laugh.

Can't believe I forgot about those films!

I'm not familiar with the apartment, what's it about?

I admit I am massive fan of the American Pie generation of films, Superbad, Pineapple Express, Not Another Teen Movie etc

But in terms of pure hilarity it would probably be
Airplane
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
All the Naked Guns
Blazin' Saddles
Madagascar 1 & 2
Emperors New Groove

In fact most Disney films are fantastically funny.

I like alot of dumb comedies, including alot of Adam Sandlers work.

The Wedding Singer
The Waterboy
Punch Drunk Love
Little Nicky

Are great films in my opinion.

I find it funny and grating when people give other people shit over their taste in film and music. (snobs)

I did film studies for a few years (mistake on my part) full of pretentious bellends who were more interested in talking about the Mise en scène then a punchline.

I expect to be judged now.

I'm with ya there brother - class films

Spoony hasnt a clue :p+:)

^^ Shaolin Soccer was a good film.

Kung Fu Hustle too.

I love comedy martial art films but those two didn't do anything for me. That said, I did like Shaolin Soccer. I just couldn't see the humour in Kung Fu Hustle - thought it was trying to hard. You should give Prodigal Son a try.

I liked Royal Tenebaums but it took me ages to get into. Bottle Rocket was fantastic, too. And yeah, Sideways was brilliant - but I think that film's a bit like marmite.

Can't believe I forgot about those films!

One of Jack Lemmon's finest. And Billy Wilder has to be one of the greatest directors, ever.

Dumb and Dumber never ceases to make me laugh.

Dumb and Dumber was infantile stuff - but yeah it was hilarous. See, when it's done well it can be brilliant.

So basically, not liking Adam Sandler doesn't make you pretentious or snobbish - You're all reverse discriminating.

I enjoyed Some like it hot, so I might check this one out.

Oh, I loved the first Police Academy as well. And Hear No Evil, See No Evil is a good call. Brewster's Million was class too.

The Life of Brian is quite hilarious, as was the Holy Grail.

Meet the Parents was funny (Shut up, Spoony), but the follow up was a bit crap. Adam Sandler is rubbish, he's never been in anything remotely good.

Dumb and Dumber was also brilliant, watched that the other day as a matter of fact.

I disagree. Airheads was great, as was Billy Maddison and Happy Gilmore had it's moments. Majority of his films are terrible though, I agree

I'm like Smashed though I like a lot of the disney films. Madagascar 1 and 2 were excellent, Shrek 1 was funny, Ice Age was good.

I like my animated films. The Lion King was sad, and happy at the same time. A whirlwind of emotions.

most of my favourites have been mentioned but I'd add Frighteners with Michael J Fox to the list and Groundhog day and Scrooged with Bill Murray.
