Funniest film you've ever seen?

I have come to conclusion that only kids find the likes of Anchorman, Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller, funny.

Out of those I only like Anchorman. How old are you Spoony? Peoples taste changes with age, maybe thats why you seem to like watching obscure films from the 1900's.

The Sting always makes me laugh even if it isn't an all-out comedy.

Gonna have to say Anchorman.

If that makes me a kid then I'll go play in my sand pit.

In Bruges is probably the funniest film I've seen in the last year or so.

Not really, if you checked out my top 100 you'll have noticed that my taste is pretty varied. As for taste changing with age, yes - I agree. I used to love Rainbow during my infant years.

I haven't seen a good comedy movie in years. How High was probably the last movie that really made me laugh. I was a bit wasted when I saw it though.

I might be immature, but most of Adam Sandlers films I find hillarious

Elf, now that film is genius

I've found none of Adam Sandlers films hilarious, or even remotely watchable. I don't rate you as immature, as you can find bits of genius in immaturity. You're just plain stupid.

edit: Seems a bit harsh, you're probably not that stupid

You don't mess with the Zohan is pretty funny.

I like alot of dumb comedies, including alot of Adam Sandlers work.

The Wedding Singer
The Waterboy
Punch Drunk Love
Little Nicky

Are great films in my opinion.

I find it funny and grating when people give other people shit over their taste in film and music. (snobs)

I did film studies for a few years (mistake on my part) full of pretentious bellends who were more interested in talking about the Mise en scène then a punchline.

I expect to be judged now.

Depends on your sense of humor.
John Candy is a comedy great and anything he did made me laugh.
friday (Tucker)
Stir crazy (wilder,pryor)
The Party (peter sellers)
Sleeper (Woody Allen)

I call bullshit, just because the critics think its funny doesn't mean you have to. This move is fecken shit.

Role Models is pretty funny.

Thanks for that.

Don't have a fecking clue what you're on about but thanks anyway.

I defy you not to laugh during the scenes in J.K. Simmons' office, that was great writing.

Role models was alright I thought, even though I can't stand stifler from American Pie (has he ever done anything remotely funny in his life?)

Im a fan of sean william-scott (other then stifler), he has some enjoyable movies. The one with lou diamond phillips is probably my favourite of his.

I just really didn't enjoy burn after reading is all i meant.

They're not great films. You like them and that's OK but they are far from being great.

It's like food, first to say you're interested in fine dining and then go to McDonalds and hammer down a burger. If McDonalds is your thing, that's fine, but don't claim it to be great. Because we all know that it isn't.

If its great to him... its great to him. I can still get a laugh out of adam sandler movies ive seen multiple times. Zohan was great IMO. Really enjoyed it.

Fine but don't try and make out that anyone who did enjoy it is only doing so through some form of elitism. It was a funny film.

It was funny in small parts but by no means in the top 10 of funny movies to me. Sorry for accusing you of stuff. Most of my mates didn't find it anywhere near as good as critics thought.

Great is quite a subjective term. They made me laugh and kept me entertained enough to watch them again. It's not something i think or worry about as much as you seem to.

No, it's called having an opinion. If something is shit, and someone feels it is then they have every right to called it pants. I don't subscribe to all this bollocks about pretentiousness/elitism/snobbery. I think Terminator 3 was shite, for example - now that doesn't make me snobbish. Nor do I like Celine Dion's music - that doesn't make me pretentious.

If anyone finds Adam Sandler's work great then I suspect that person is suffering from a form of mental illness.

'That Veronica Vaughn is one piece of ass, I knooooow from experience dude.'
'It's too damn hot for a penguin to be just walkin' around here. I gotta send him back to the South Pole.'

No, you're opinion is saying that your opinion is the only one that is right for everyone or they are suffering from mental illness... thats being a wanker.

No, my opinion is that Adam Sandler is shit. . .and anyone who thinks he's great should feck off and die.

My last comment was tongue in cheek - but then again, you have to ask yourself 'do I suffer from a mental illness'.
