No issue whatsoever, but as we speak about going personal. I am sure you understand why such posts aren't received well.
Ah yes, the language barrier doesn't detect Sarcasm. As I say, if the mods have an issue with what I'm posting then I'm sure they'll let me know some way or other.

This must be your first transfer saga. Please feel free to ignore me if you want

I'd love to understand the mindset and logic of a person that is still confident this will happen. I mean, based on what?

In the eventuality he does actually decided to move, I think you'll see a few, more appealing, clubs show their hand.

If he joined us now I couldn't think of a more reluctant signing ever, at least on the face of it. The optics would just be so poor.

I’m no lawyer, but if Frenkie stays his lawyers will force payment of the deferred wages. When, who knows? But deferred wages will eventually have to be paid.

Don't think they will need to force it.

He is already started to be paid part of his "deferred" money as part of his contract for 22/23.

People panic way too much.

Still 1000% confident this will happen.

I refuse to believe the club would invest this much time without assurances given.

Assumptions, mostly:

- He talks to Ten Hag
- He wouldn't just string Ten Hag along for weeks.
- He is unwilling to take a significant paycut.

Is there any factual basis to these assumptions? I don't know. The last one was at least widely reported by both English and Spanish media so it isn't just wishful thinking.

The question is, why are doubters being burned?
I actually agree that a lot of us, me included, turned a bit of a blind eye to negative reports and we created a bit of an echo chamber. I have no issue with people being sceptic or negative with solid reason.

But after every Sport tweet, we have someone come in and declare it dead. And then again when the Mirror cites that very Sport tweet. And then a third time when Hildegard off Twitter posts the Sport tweet as fact.

What's the benefit of the army of "omg lel this is so ded how deluded can you be?" Even if they were right, would a bunch of weirdos on an internet forum being depressive somehow improve the situation?

Only thing holding this up is that FDJ is waiting for conformation that this thread has reached 1000 pages. Then he'll feel wanted and loved and put pen to paper!

As per my previous answer-
Sure. Simply because we have heard ‘nothing‘ at all in the last few weeks. The last meaningful update from trusted UK sources like Ornstein was that we had agreed a deal with Barca. Granted we still had to agree with the player but the price and structure of the deal is in place. It’s my belief that we wouldn’t have got that far without sounding out the player first to make sure he was up for the move. Especially as the manager has a previous and personal relationship with this particular player.
Since then all we’ve had is regurgitation of the same bs - mostly emanating from a Spanish source(sport) that is a Barca mouthpiece and itself has flip flopped and contradicted its own stories more than I can remember.
Until we hear that either club have pulled out, or Frenkie himself puts an end to it I have no reason to believe it won’t happen when all the pointers go in one direction, that Frenkie cannot stay at Barca.

The question is, why are doubters constantly being burned?
Everyone's entitled to their opinions and can believe what they wish. No one is being burned, hell, we might post some stuff when negativity is tweeted, but without the "meltdowns" I'm sure this place wouldn't be half as fun as it has been.

It's fun to see people's opinions on this transfer, and even I admit that those that think he's not coming have some very very good points that are very hard to argue against, but at the end of the day, it's the banter that matters and it's the banter I'm here for

What gets me is the ones who waltz in demanding the thread be closed just because they lack belief. It’s very arrogant and irritating.

Yeah, I guess there's a middle ground to everything. But where's the fun in that?

Sport and bad Spanish translations are largely responsible for this thread being on course to hit 1000 pages. Credit where credit is due.

I think Sport have provided around 500 pages of comments alone! Their tweets have been gold at times, and they've flip-flopped more than a fish out of water.

Their United hate is something to behold.

Can’t really give that tagline to a guy from Berlin can we?! :nervous:
Kidding aside, it's really weird. As if they have an intrinsic need to feel shit about United, no matter if justified or not. And even worse, others better should as well

Not speaking about a single poster in particular, mind

Very sensible. Now, as for your vote...

You and plant and berbaclass are trapped. There is no way you can change your stance on Frenkie. Trapped by your own reputation. That must be pretty crap, no? Look at the reaction Berba got when he said he was bored by this saga. He had no choice but to say he was kidding. He might have been.

Yup, there is definately a significant portion of our fanbase that aren’t happy unless they are angry about the club. I’m not sure why anyone would ever attach themself to something that makes them so miserable.

This all day. If you follow the logic tree...if FDJ was this hesitant to join then ETH would know. If he doesn't then their relationship is simply not close. So basically either you believe they have a close relationship or they don't. Because if they have a close relationship, the continued pursuit means FDJ is completely on board with joining.

I think this is all financial at this point. FDJ might not to love the idea of leaving a club and city he's fond of...but no one leaves millions on the table no matter how rich you are. This is all a negotiation IMHO. Keep the faith!

Haha I know.. I know...

In all fairness though I do believe he's coming and if it turns out he's really not, so be it, I'll hold my hands up and say I was wrong and the doubters were right. But until then... you better believe its on!:devil::devil:
