Not all about quantity bro, I've been here for 8 years, just 6 years before you catch up "newb" ;)
Over 700 posts in here when 7 would have covered the developments so far

By the way, I had to wait until today to reply, I had used up my newb posting quota for yesterday haha
Smash that like button to stop this travesty ever reoccurring!
Been there, I feel your pain!

feck sake. You're right. Also still find it mad that they've started closing the transfer window mid July.
Give me dose of that optimism. I cant see any further deals happening at this rate, specially in the midfield where we need reinfrcements the most.

Reputational damage matters. I'm not saying pull out but it's still a problem.
What damaged reputation? A club wanted to sell its player. We agreed a deal and now waiting for the club and the player sort themselves out. If it materialized well and good, if not well move on.

I can't fault united a single bit.

It's true though isn't it haha.

I'm pretty sure this will come to bite Barca on the arse sooner rather than later. If they have a bad spell on the pitch they'll absolutely feel it off the pitch
I think the objective of these presidents is to concern themselves with their term and dump all the shit on the doorstep of the next president; they don’t run the club in a way that says they love it; rather it’s a tool to be used and abused and then dumped.

What’s baffling is that there doesn’t seem to be any longstanding voices of reason that can veto bone-headed ideas and ventures there. It’s beyond scandalous that they’ve gotten themselves into this state in the first place, but then to continue unabated really is incredulous.

President > club

The only strange part of this drama, and which I can't explain, is why there are no reports of negotiations between frenkie's agent and Barca. They are not discussing the way out? What are we missing here?

Their fans are also delusional. They're too proud to accept that Barca can't spend. Give them Lewa and they'd shut up. Give them Spotify sponsorship deal and they think it's all okay, not realizing the money making machine is growing weaker.

They certainly create the loops with these presidents and give them carte blanche to carry on as they do. Few seem to be able to look beyond shiny new toys and see the house of cards collapsing - or care to for that matter - and it’s really strange when you think these supporters should have their finger on the pulse in ways fans of clubs who are privately owned cannot.

The 8th Lever of Death (死門, Shimon) is located at the heart. Users open this lever by puncturing their chest with their thumb in order to direct the cash flow there. While open, the user's heart pumps at maximum speed, granting them loans a hundred times greater than they are usually capable of receiving, far beyond that of the Super League founding clubs. A "Steam of Blood" (血の蒸気, Chi no Jōki) is emitted from the user's pores and hair, resembling a flaming red KDB-like aura. Opening this lever allows the user to perform the Evening Elephant and Night Laporta. The eighth lever causes the body to continually heat up until it's been cooked from the inside-out, reducing La Masia to ash.

The Spring Time Of Youth

Some of the replies trying to justify this are quite hilarious. They've really drunk the Kool-Aid.

Jesus, Barca are fecking mental.

Looks like it's going to be a yearly thing of flogging their revenue streams to fund their transfer habits, unless they dominate. On pitch failure is now intrinsically linked to their survival.

Whatever happens with FdJ, it's only Barca who come out looking pathetic. We either get him or we don't and move on (obviously the latter would be disappointing, but we've had our fair share of failed transfer sagas).

Barca either force him out and look like cnuts or keep him and look like cnuts.

They'll struggle under Xavi with their transfer business as it is. RM will dominate the league for the next few seasons at least.

Can't be a yearly thing, they are at 25% of their revenue already, there's a pretty hard limit into how much they can actually sell and still operate. This is already in last ditch territory.

Also, they definitely won't dominate. They just got humiliated last season, there is nothing to suggest that Xavi is some coaching mastermind, and they signed.... Christensen? Kessie (who is not a midfielder they needed)? 34 year old Lewandowski? Raphinha where they have Dembele?

Even when you go man for man and compare them to the actual top clubs in europe, they hardly have any players that get into City or Liverpools teams ffs, not to mention the vast coaching gap. My guess is they are still banking on the super league bailing them out, because this current plan is suicide as they definitely don't have enough to actually be successful in europe.

Back in the day you couldn't even post in the mains. You guys have it easy.
I remember at one point we were not even allowed to register. Something about people from outside England or something to do with the internet connection, don't really remember the exact reason. I'm sure the veterans would know.

Barca will wait until the final minute and rely on the cash filled english club to pay the differed wages (by increasing the agreed fee obviously as a workaround)

Our only risk is if Barca find a way (scheme, loophole, funds, etc.) to ensure they stay within limits even without selling FDJ

Reports saying he doesn't want to join United are surely false.
Why would we be trying so hard for someone who doesn't want to join, especially with Ten Hag in charge. He will have spoken to De Jong since they have worked together so well in the past.
It has to be the wages issue.

Tbf since he arrived at Barca they got 52 points in 23 games on the league, Madrid only got 54 points in that period with a better team. He has done a pretty good job and will do better with Lewa in the team.
