Eshanul: Berbaclass, please, let's both of us stop trying to justify this whole thing and admit he's not coming. Walk away!

Berbaclass : Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how many posts I make an hour here? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop posting in this thread? A thread big enough that it could be listed on the first page of Google goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me. No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not just a muppet, Ehsanul. I am the Master Muppet. A guy opens this thread, reads a few posts and goes about his day and you think that of me? No. I am the one who posts!

I'm not imagining, I'm expecting.
Richard Arnold bursts through the door of the Nou Camp, grabs both Frenkie and Memphis by the ears, drags them both out to a waiting limousine, flips Laporte the bird, knocks over a vase and leaves.

I think the inclusion of Memphis is a pretty big positive in relation to this deal. They seem to be really good mates, you'd imagine that Memphis will be trying to convince him to come.

Then again, Laporta might make both Frenkie and Memphis be his personal servants In return for staying... memphis cooling him down with palm leaves whilst de Jong feeds him peeled grapes and wine.

Without sounding too conspiracy theorist, do you think its possible that Barca could insist that United take Memphis too as part of the deal on a cut down price? They know he'd likely go back to United and with them being good friends, de Jong would likely join him too. Plus any transfer fee for Memphis could pay off de Jongs wages.

I know it sounds far fetched and the sorts, but would it be possible and would ten Hag actually go for that? I think he'd get the Best out of Memphis and it adds more depth to the squad?

I think it's in the realms of possibility yes.

It's a win win for both teams really. United get more depth and two good players, Barca get to keep all of de Jongs transfer fee, clears off owed money and removes two wages from their books, freeing up a lot for Silva and Kounde (if they beat Chelsea)

Pretty much yeah.

You're making me think things and now I'm giggling like a loon.

Bravo

So let me gets this straight... We want De Jong so much, we are willing to buy Depay so that money goes towards Frankie's deferred wages?

Just a theory, but could be possible. Depends if ten Hag would find value in having Memphis in the team.

This one is certainly one of the most special sagas where you don't even know what to hope for and the point of view changes every week.
I'm not as invested as I've been in other sagas, like Thiago or Fabregas, boy those were filled with pure passion.

Now, I think we need a destroying, reactive DM the most, and Frenkie is not that. Surely, he'd be an upgrade at CM to Eriksen/McTominay/VDB but it's quite clear that he doesn't really want to come.
I'll be happy if he signs but I don't feel like our season depends on it.

We have two ball-winners in McT and Fred and you think we need to prioritize getting another one?
:wenger::lol:

What we need is a player who connects defense and attack, a dlp who can burst forward. That‘s FdJ.

No it's not an alien concept, but it's very unlikely too.
What proof is there to say that de Jong does not like to work with ten Hag? Everything points to the fact they have a fantastic relationship
In fairness, I said it “wasn’t impossible” … in other words, assuming he wanted to play for him again because of past deferential comments in the press seems like it would be a mistake.

He may want to play for him. But it is a serious possibility he may not.

I'm 100% convinced that Barca want him gone and expect the pressure to start mounting on him soon through their media. It's basically about who blinks first. If I were him I'd never give up the money owed to me. He really doesn't need to push for a move here.
If they're willing to force Messi out then De Jong has no chance.

Don't hate McT but as a squad player at best, for me, he moves like a chess piece from Harry Potter and has no sense of danger, which is kind of fundamental for a 'destoyer'

Keep hearing same argument for AWB, people saying he is a good defender because he can slide tackle - absolute nonsense..

We are never getting back to the top with players who don't have more than one redeeming quality. FDJ has a unique skill set, in as far as he keeps the ball and can move us up through the lines - it would be transformative to our game IF he signs.

Yes absolutely. We also need a ball-winner alongside him. McT and Fred both can do that, and have decent other qualities up to a point.

I haven‘t written them off and neither have Mourinho, Solskjaer and Ten Hag.

This has been a rollercoaster. Pretty every 1-2 days I switch from believing this is off and on.

Currently feel this is getting done by start of the season.

Fred might have decent numbers in winning the ball back but you only have to watch them both to realise they aren't great in that "defensive midfield" role. I actually think Fred operates better further up the field and pressing players. Neither are good enough positionally or defensively when it comes to shielding the defence and playing at the base of midfield.

Perhaps ETH thinks we don't need that but I'd be very surprised if he manages without in the long run. Even Liverpool and City have that type of player and they're much more dominant and have much more quality than us.

Fred might be a great ball winner, but is he a winner of great balls?

At this point I think there's more chance of De Jong taking an obscene pay cut to stay, than Barca coughing up the 17m they owe him.

Dear @Berbaclass..
..you better watch out, this @Brownie85 chap is getting closer. I am worried. You must not give up. Keep fighting. Would you like me to send him tik tok dance lessons by one and only to distract him?
Also have a bet on you having 2000 posts in here by the time we smash Gerrard. If it happens Steve Me gets sacked during season. Do not disappoint me, you master muppet.
I also believe you should have first post on 1000th page. If it happens we get Frenkie day after. Simple as.
Hail both muppets. :thumbs up:

Once again, they haven't sold BLM man

They have apparently decided against it for now as they managed to bring in enough money selling their tv rights. But I haven't a clue? You don't even know what they fecking sold :wenger:

Have a read so you stop making moronic posts, making multiple moronic posts and not once checking out what you are talking about is not "all good", it's all "daft": https://barcauniversal.com/barcelona-no-longer-considering-the-sale-of-blm-this-summer/ and https://barcauniversal.com/barcelona-do-not-intend-to-sell-49-stake-in-blm-until-2023/

Then I am wrong, and I owe you an apology. I do think we’ll be fine long term but I stand corrected, my bad.
