My guess is yeah. Even ignoring the stronger foot thing, fdj and lisandro Martinez could then split their build up roles between left side and right side too. Our build up on the left side is strong with Shaw already, will be even stronger with Martinez. On the right we would then have Frenkie running it, bringing it up to Bruno/Sancho/Eriksen essentially.

Looks excellent on paper tbh. A group of players where all of them are comfortable on the ball and under pressure, and who excel at progressing the ball up the pitch/building up play. Martial as the 9 and it's even more the case.

Without knowing the exact wording in his contract, yes that's the gist of it.

There are different theories that he's trying to now get the €16-17M he should have been paid past 2 seasons, but agreed to be paid on top of his salary over 4 next seasons instead. Then some sources claiming he knows he's already lost this money if he leaves now, but he is due a loyalty bonus for completing his contract. This loyalty bonus was added as an incentive for him to agree to the delayed payments. Intention was it triggers in 4 years when the contract is up. But that his agent/lawyers are saying that he is due that payment now as he has completed his contract if Barca are the one's asking for the transfer.

I think there are two issues. Firstly he is probably one of the only assets they could get a return on value for and secondly his salary.

As much as people say why would we want a player who doesn't want to play for us, why the feck would De Jong want to stay at a club that is trying everything to boot him out AND swindle him out of money owed?

I'm sure United have been charming as feck towards him/have laid the red carpet out and he gets to link up with the manager that made him plus train with a bunch of highly rated Dutch coaches/Steve McLaren aka the dream.

Likely scenario is that he's rightfully holding out for the money he's owed and he's obviously willing to be part of the United revolution. I'd want to see Barca burn, if I was him.

I can't see Maguire not shitting himself when trying to play out from the back. That would be detrimental to what he's trying to implement.
