Brozovic is not a player who can pick up from defenders, he is a destroyer if anything, which is fine, but then you are asking one of McFred to be your play maker, or you need to buy another midfielder. Its certainly viable, but you would also need a better defender than maguire if you do.
ETH can do that with his teams, he can build around the players he has, but if we don't buy FDJ then we would need to go buy v different players to suit a different way of playing. We can barely get one signing done. Imagine we now turn our attention to Brozovic and we end up with him and Fred, are you confident that is much better than mcFred? So now we have to go get another player. I think this is why we are holding out with Barca, switching to plan B is not just a case of selecting another midfielder.
MikelHazard is the only one
While I agree generally with the point, there is also a rumor that Jorginho could goto Juve as part of the De ligt deal and they would need a DM then.Exactly. Bollocks do Chelsea want him, they've just brought back Gallagher and they're not just going to drop Jorginho or Kovacic for him. Would be a huge waste of money for them.
I'd have to agree.I think he’d choose ETH over 1 season without CL, to be honest
Mikel
it's like folks are actively looking for someone or another club to end this so they can stop refreshing the thread. just take a break from the thread. you're not going to miss anything.
Cech, Essien and Robben too, I think.True although they paid us millions for that one and he didn’t even play a game for the club. Mugs.
Yeah, like they've speedily sealed Kounde, De Ligt and Sterling. If Chelsea are in for him, I fully expect us to lose out to him.
If their interest is genuine, they will show us how a deal is done. Not 3 months. 3 days.
They have CL and that will be key.
And RaphinhaYeah, like they've speedily sealed Kounde, De Ligt and Sterling.
How long has the Sterling deal taken them? Feels like they’ve been doing that deal for around the same amount of time that United have been negotiating for de Jong.Chelsea used to get their signings done quickly. If they are really interested and go sign him it will be done quickly. For us it will be like ripping of a band-aid fast instead of, if we dont sign him, this long and painful proces.
Because he's so excited by the prospect of coming here?
No CL football will be the decider here.
Cech, Essien and Robben too, I think.
Did they even beat us to Hazard? I thought it was widely documented that Sir Alex and Gill didn't want to pay the "extortionate" £6m agent fee.Hazard is the only one
Yeah, like they've speedily sealed Kounde, De Ligt and Sterling.
Maybe, but in which case, they have to negotiate 2 deals prior for that to work. While I agree generally with the point, there is also a rumor that Jorginho could goto Juve as part of the De ligt deal and they would need a DM then.
But it's a far fetched one.
But they're about to get Sterling and they'll probably land De Ligt/ someone else at CB. They don't even need to commit more money to come up with a better deal, if they change the payment structure to a more front-loaded structure but offer the exact same amount to Barcelona as we have, its instantly a better deal because of Barcelona's desperate need for the cash ASAP.I repeat. They need two defenders and a striker. They aren’t spending that much in one window. Also another attacker if they don’t get Raphinha.
Yeah exactly. So since we became shit and splashed the cash to fix it basically no one?Oh you mean when Peter Kenyon moved and took a list of our transfer targets?
Don’t think that’s quite the same as we didn’t formally go for those players as such. I’m looking at it from an open bidding war.
Losing Hazard over £6m agent fees really is a blow in hindsightDid they even beat us to Hazard? I thought it was widely documented that Sir Alex and Gill didn't want to pay the "extortionate" £6m agent fee.
One of their biggest feck ups, in hindsight.
If this is a planted story to increase pressure on united to pay extra money then... It will be a great success is say
Half this thread will pay 100m, the other half have already run and hid under the bedIf this is a planted story to increase pressure on united to pay extra money then... It will be a great success is say
