The club is establishing a salary scale for economic reasons and all players and coaches adjust and lower their salary except FDJ.
Well, if that player doesn't contribute to the group, he doesn't play. He receives his full salary but does not play. And he also has the option of being transferred if he does not like the situation.

This is total BS. It can work when a player only has 6 months left or so on his contract, but there's no way Barcelona leaves De Jong on the bench for 4 years while paying him his full salary.

Busquets and Alba are still on significantly higher wages than De Jong, yet they don't seem to be part of this same guilt trip lower wages or don't play ultimatum. Being proud Catalans you would think they'd be the first to take wage cuts for the good of their beloved club

We should just walk out from the negotiation. Let Barca alone in the table, feck them. We need players, but not specifically De Jong. This has taken too long and it's embarrassing.

The club is pushing the players to accept the financial responsibility for the mess the club made. If the club was being financially responsible they wouldn't be signing new players in addition to this. Instead they got De Jong to agree to a wage deferral on money the club agreed to pay him and now they are trying to pressure him (through the media no less, so setting the fans on him as well) into accepting less or selling him. Whilst doing that they are attempting to sign at least four new players.
By all means talk about it all like it's matter of fact, but it's a shitty, and despicable way to treat their employees and if it was Man Utd I'd say the same thing.
