You do you, praising someone blindly who has never performed on said level is also pointless. It much easier to be and look good in a settled Dortmund team with Haaland next to you. Can he lift a team in the prem? Not so sure
Its not blind praise, he was a generational player at his age with what he achieved for Dortmund. He was class in the league and the CL. He was class before haaland, he was class with haaland. Literally nothing changed in his performance levels with Paco alcacer or haaland or whoever else. He created boatloads of chances and was the main guy for ball progression for Dortmund either way.
Nobody can "lift" a team in that is in the state United was in last year. So it's a write off year, that's the only thing. Looking into last season as anything against this or that player when the club was in turmoil is useless, and it's crazy to me that some people seem to be writing off some players for not having a big impact despite the shitshow situation!
Ten hag is here to now coach the team and give a platform for our players to actually perform well in. So yeah. I look at Sancho as someone who every big club in the world would snap our hands off if they had the chance to bring him in, because he is a world class talent. And he'll show that with ten hag now.
Anyway, this is FdJ thread, not Sancho. Its just incredibly stupid to not look at Sancho's situation and blindly criticize him for not being a star right away, when it was an impossible situation for any player. And that's not exaggeration. Put Mbappe in last year and he wouldn't perform consistently or have a big impact either.
Also to be clear - there is a difference between "looking good", and what Sancho did. Before age 20 he has more goal contributions in a big league than any other player over the past 30+ years, apart from Mbappe who only has 1 more. That's generational, and what we should be looking forward to.
