Upfront vs spread over 3 - 5 years make a huge difference too. Barca need money now.Yeah but I thought the basic figure would be higher, unless the add-ons are very easily achieved.

I don't think anyone cares at this point. Are people that deluded/easily fooled that they fall for those Maguire links?
The average IQ is 100...Are people that deluded/easily fooled that they fall for those Maguire links?
Says more about FDJ's ambition ...don't you think?are inch close to signing De Jong as a 6th team in the league as well.
How do you know we haven't? There's no way they've been negotiating with Barca this entire time for De Jong to turn around and be like "no ta, I'm happy where I'm am. Get rekt scrub".What is so far crucially missing from the equation so far is the agreement of personal terms which will reveal how much De Jong wants to come to Old Trafford, if at all. Really, we should be tying that side up first, IMHO, as other clubs do.
I would assume that has already been taken care of, it usually is.What is so far crucially missing from the equation so far is the agreement of personal terms which will reveal how much De Jong wants to come to Old Trafford, if at all. Take it out of the Glazers dividendsSeems that FDJ agent wants 5 million

So says Lukhurst. At the start it was always said Barca would accept 80-85m euros.
my memory tells me they wanted 85m Euros (£73m). Only some crazy Spanish sites ever mentioned more. so if the £69m figure is correct, we've spent weeks pissing about to save £4m. Great work!
I can't think of a CB that would fit worse into Barca's style. They will resign Dmytro Chyhrynskyi before they bid on Maguire.
Sadcafe strikes again.Says more about FDJ's ambition ...don't you think?
Don’t be sillyWe're going to look really stupid if he turns out to be another Anderson!
What have you seen to suggest thatWe're going to look really stupid if he turns out to be another Anderson!

My interpretation is that FCB wants to take Harry off our hands with additional money given to them. Something like Harry + 100M = FDJ
Hannibal MejbriMy only concern with FDJ obsession is how will we play in case he gets injured…. It’s a serious question…..given how desperately ETH wants him and he is integral to his style of play….. who will replace him in case of a short term injury (hopefully no long term)….
Can Eriksen be the answer?
You cant. Same as madrid cant replace modric when injured over past seasons. Or why Barcelona couldnt replace xavi when injured. Eriksen plays higher up the pitch than frenkie. A understudy as madrid have for modric would be good.My only concern with FDJ obsession is how will we play in case he gets injured…. i was just saying... to be fair, I've seen very little of himWhat have you seen to suggest that
Based on the reports I saw, they wanted 80M-85M euros as guaranteed fee, they are getting 80M as fee + add-ons, which is still good work by the club.
In 2019, they paid Ajax 75M in guaranteed fees alone, rising to 86M, as 22 year old, so it stands to logic that FCB will demand huge fee for him, but due to their current financial issues, their hands are a bit tied and United took advantage of that, we get the 25 year old version of De Jong, at only 80M total.
In comparison, Aurélien Tchouameni who is 22 years old, cost Madrid 80M euros in guaranteed fees alone, up to 100M with add-ons, Rodri cost city around 73M euros as a 23 years old in 2019 when they paid the release clause, Moyes said it would take 150m to get Rice, you get where I am going with this.
God knows how some fans can sit on this forum and complain about so much when we are inch close to signing De Jong as a 6th team in the league as well.
Is Frenkie most comparable to Xabi Alonso? Never really watched him play but my understanding is that he's positionally sound, dictates from deep but also capable of bursts forward.
Now people are making up reasons to be sad/negative
It's exactly the same....spot on, FDJ is taking a risk with his career but good for him, let's hope he becomes a legend, like such as Bryan Robson and not Paul Pogba!!Aye, just like how David Silva had no ambition in 2010, or Gündoğan in 2016.
What? FDJ is taking a big risk coming to us, just now, hope it pays off for him ...and us!Sadcafe strikes again.
