But if true why would we reject an offer like that? Could have reduce the De Jong fee too
Could have? We paid £80m for Maguire

We’re a family club and don’t like to sell our players after one bad season.
If you see United sell a footballer willingly then just know they are not good enough to play for anyone above Bournemouth by that point. Anything more, we keep them around because we like them.

The deal is £69 million straight for De Jong or £90 million if we include Maguire. But if true why would we reject an offer like that? Could have reduce the De Jong fee too
They’ll be copying from the same Times article?Am I going crazy or are these guys just copying what the other said ^^

That's a feckin steal. That price can't be right.

Wth?? Just went on twitter, first 5 tweets are about this? What is going on?
Based on this and the £69m I take this to be:
€65m (£56m) plus €15m (£13m), for a total potential deal of €80m (£69m). This sounds relatively fair. I assume most of the €15m will be achievable, but hopefully at least some based on performance/ trophies.
The only downside is that whilst that cost might be reasonable the salary will also be huge so total deal cost is still beyond what most other clubs in world football would pay.
And we could never dream of selling a player for that kind of package
Bad news everyone
Again.....Thursday is 30 June, the last day that is within the 21/22 season. Barca MUST comply with La Liga finances from the previous season in order to sign and register new players for the 22/23 season.
International players such as de Jong and Lewandowski won't be back with their club until 1st or 2nd week of July at the earliest.....with the English transfer window closing on 1 September.
Barca want to register like 5 to 6 new players. Offloading a player like FdJ is necessary for Barca to reshape their squad and finances without external help or selling future revenue.
and right now he's worth about £8Could have? We paid £80m for Maguire
They wanted 100M euros in fee + add-ons (around 86M pounds).
The club negotiated it down to 80M euros in fee + add-ons (around 69M pounds).
That is 17M pounds less than what Barca originally wanted.
Good work by the club, 69M pounds is still a massive fee, but Frenkie is one of the best CMs in Europe and on the cusp of his prime years.

Another 6x9 hours to go
As I said before, it feels like we’ve begged them to accept below £70m so that it is “60 something” for us to save face and justify the wasted timemy memory tells me they wanted 85m Euros (£73m). Only some crazy Spanish sites ever mentioned more. so if the £69m figure is correct, we've spent weeks pissing about to save £4m. Great work!
When does the window close?
