Imagine blaming his fiancé and calling him whipped. Maybe the guy just doesn't find United an attractive option?

And now people don't want him anymore because he doesn't have an elite mentality to join a club battling for top 4 vs fighting for his place in an elite squad and challenging for the CL/La Liga title. :wenger:

Said exactly this almost 2 months ago. His mentality is weird to say the least. Hanging around like a bad smell in a place where nobody wants you.

But I'd take mentality over talent everytime. I'd rather have someone hardworking, driven and ambitious over an insanely talented "just here for the pay cheque"

Frenkie de Jong and EtH know eachother, Frenkie played his best football with EtH as his manager. If Frenkie isnt coming than it will be because of the financial side and the wages he still is owed. Im convinced Frenkie de Jong and EtH had contact since that is the way it goes these days (a text or whatever). If Frenkie told ten Hag that he had no interest in joining Manchester United than ten Hag would have told the club and stopped the attempts to try and get him.

Pathetic of him to stay at Farca (if that indeed does end up being the case), whatever the reason. If my employer took the piss like that, I'd bail.

Not sure why you're bothered about this instead of whether Barca can win anything besides a measly Copa del Ray for the first time in ages
 
It's perfectly valid to take your life partner's wishes into account, especially when you're evidently happy where you are. She'll be his wife soon, he's been with her all his adult life.

Can posters stop this notion that he is whipped by her fiancé and she is ruining his career ? Making this baseless claim shows a certain mindset you people have. And even if there is some truth to it, what’s the issue ? It’s two young people in love, can think for themselves and are allowed to make life choices together.

Maybe just maybe de Jong thinks after the window is over, everything would return to normal and he would get his place, it’s a busy season and Barcelona is his dream club after all.

I specific said that it's ok if that's what both of them want but you gotta admit it's quite frustrating for a United fan.

Anyway it's all speculation so quite meaningless.

It depends though. He's putting his future on the line here and he's chosen to stay at a job where no-one wants him and his employers have basically spit in his face. Again, just for that it is a very weak mentality but whatever - he makes his own choices (or his wife makes them for him), it doesn't really matter. That's not the kind of player we should be chasing for.
