As far as I can tell from the murmurs we all hear, Barca don’t really want him to stay because they want the transfer fee and they want him off the wages.
Although Frenkie wishes that wasn’t the case, he has to live with that reality. He is not wanted. He is under constant pressure to give up his wages so that Barca can pay the next guy. If he doesn’t do that, he will be a pariah to the club and to the guys who have accepted much lower wages than him.
Since he has all that to deal with it’s not a stretch to believe he will accept a good settlement offer to move the club. It’s not a stretch to imagine that Barca will make him a proper offer by deadline day.
Given the tension between what both parties want, I really can’t say it’s likely that he stays there.

I think the hype of such a big transfer has blown him up as a player to a level he hasnt reached.
