Begs the question as to why he even wants to stay there

Tbh it seems like he doesn't, but has to say that in order to get what he wants from Barca.

Barca's worst nightmare is Frenkie staying on his current terms, so by threatening exactly that, Frenkie can get what he wants from the club.

My interpretation of it.

i hate chelsea. hope he doen't choose them

That's the interesting part for me, despite all the talks about the player preference, it seems that Chelsea themselves don't know it and the only thing that people are actually using as an argument is the CL and not the place. So the key would be to know what De Jong actually think about each clubs near future, it would make no sense to base a 5 year contract on the first 12 months.
Ok, so sky and other sources have said the first proposal of 67.6 m pounds plus other monetary concessions (which I would assume include covering his owed wages) are in Barcas hands to consider/ or have already accepted.

For the timeline I’m talking about that is the important part: we are sending in figures for Barca to accept/ or have already accepted depending on who you read.

We said we would t do that until there was a green light from the player.

Now, it’s of course possible we changed our stance on that, but it seems unlikely.

It also is t a guarantee of Chelsea. The specific wording of Romano back then was that we wanted a green light that: 1 the player would be willing to leave Barca and2 that he would be willing to come to Chelsea if he indeed left.

You could be “willing” to go to 3 or 4 teams. You still have to pick one.

La Decision v2. Do it live on YT Frenkie, you'll make some of your contract back.

Hopefully the last we'll hear from this guy either way

Amazing how many times this bellsniff has posted a version of this tweet without anything happening in weeks (months).

I've lost all hope in this one coming off now, but would be good to draw a giant fecking line under it.

Because he is essentially playing "Constructive Dismissal 101" He is playing the role of Loyal employee, forced out by scheming elements within the company, who are not following correct procedures or contractual obligations in order to force him out of the organisation. The more you have been forced out "against your will"....the greater the compensation usually. If you say...."well I hated the job and was looking for a way out already" = less compensation and less injurious payment due from the company.

The twitter mob are having a field day over all this. Christmas come early. 3 sets of fans eager for any scraps they'll throw and I honestly don't believe anyones had much of a clue the whole way though.

Could stay at Barca. Could join United. Could join Chelsea. None of them have a clue

Yup as long as he remains professional and fulfils obligations hes golden.

No way Barcelona want a court battle over a contract.

Does seem very much like we will see who is right in the next 24 hours or so though. Barca meeting with his agent today and La Liga kicking off on the weekend, it is squeaky bum time as the great man likes to say.

BREAKING NEWS: FC Barcelona sell 158% of their players naming rights. All players MUST legally change their names to the highest bidders until 2028. The eighth palanca has been pulled.

He needs to cry when the fans boo him and claim that the club caused severe distress. #££££

Is it just me or are a lot of journalists being poached by United. First Melissa Reddy and now Jason Burt. The pull
