And you trust Barcelona to pay him? I'd say it's 50/50 they just say that's the new fee and still say he isn't owed anything.
That isn’t the point here. The point is Cassidy saying it’s not legally allowed for Utd to pay the wages.

If the only way to get the deal done is Utd and Barca agree that Utd will pay his wages, it’s very easy to achieve without breaking any rule or law. That’s the point.

Whether utd want to pay the wages or not is a totally different and irrelevant point.

Because Barca want to bring in some bidding war. Blame for not finding a backup but not for this.

bidding war or trying to find an alternate club he would actually join. at this point it's hard to believe the clowns at this club wouldn't just pony up the wage cash soon as chelsea entered the conversation had he wanted to join.

I didn't say that. I said it was looked into and it may be illegal.
I then said your other suggestion relys on Barca making the payment, which currently they do not want to do.

Also you cannot pay more to a club than the agreed fee, that is called money laundering and is illegal

That is the part you seem to be missing, they don't want to do that, and it would be on their accounts
Havent they also got to pay out almost 35m in tax now, because they royally fecked up with this TV rights deal

What on earth are you on about? You are making zero sense. Of course it’s on their books. It’s meant to be on their books. That’s the whole point.

It makes no difference to their accounting if it’s on their books. They have 17m extra revenue come in and it balances out with 17m cost in owed wages.

Considering he's not said anything to the media, we're just taking others words as the truth because that's all we have.

We'll know sooner or later what's true and what's not
Ronaldo has hardly said a word yet the entire footballing world knows about his intentions over the summer, it's part of the modern sports landscapes.

Players have well paid intermediaries do the work behind the scenes for them rather than having to personally come out publicly to state things and open themselves up to backlash. It's an efficient way of hedging bets for whatever outcomes arise

You keep missing the point that they don't want any payment to De Jong on their books whilst they have a legal position that the contract is illegal

Dude  And how do you legally sue a club for agreeing a fee and then asking for more later? Please just stop.

Wtf. You are just making new stuff up every time which makes even less sense. I don’t even think you know which point you are talking about anymore.

Give me one reason why they don’t want any payment to de Jong on their books when it’s been paid to them from Utd? Please don’t try to be an accountant.

You don't legally sue a club, the clubs accounts get audited

Lads, let's not kid ourselves. Rabiot is obviously alternative to FdJ, just like Arnautovic is to Sesko. Expect the "se queda" with him agreeing to lowering his wages soon.

All we’ve heard all window is Neves and Tielemans are the alternatives to de Jong yet we haven’t approached either of them and instead have went straight to Juventus and agreed to sign Adrien fecking Rabiot. There’s no words. :wenger:

The original point was right now Barcas position is that they do not owe him any money, so they ain't paying him jack.

Also, finishing a sentence with 'Period' doesn't make your argument any more compelling.

It doesn't? I've been saying this to clients all day, then walking out the room high-fiving my colleagues.

Might need to re-think my whoopass strategy.

No that wasn’t your original point.

This was your original point to which I responded and then you started dancing around like a cat on a hot tin roof with some accountancy gymnastics.

Also another club paying it has been explored and deemed to he potentially illegal
You said it’s been deemed potentially illegal. I debunked it that it’s a myth and easy to get around.

You didn't you suggested something which would rely on Barca making the payment, and even that suggestion had potential illegalities

He also suggested a sign on bonus that would also circumvent the issue. What’s the argument against that?

Ffs, Obviously the money will come from Utd so it’s not actually barcas pocket. It’s just their account the final transfer is made from.

And the nonsense you said about a sign on fee won’t work because of tax in the U.K. Well you obviously give him higher gross so he ends up with the net amount.

Are you really struggling with this? It’s easier explaining FFP rules to my wife!

Have to hope he's give his word to EtH. We need this deal to happen asap.

We have enough problems with our nest of vipers as it is. Don't want this dirty criminal anywhere near. text

How is this Utds fault?

It's always United's fault though, right?

FDJ and Barcelona fighting into a stalemate over wages - United should just pay Barcelona the money he's owed.
FDJ stays at Barcelona - United shouldn't have moved on sooner.
FDJ goes to Chelsea - United should have just paid the money.

No matter what, some will just blame United for everything.

I got a "No memes in the FF" for 1 infraction point for meme'ing in the Arnatovic TF.

Sheeeeeiiiiiit. If they wanted easy point infractions they should have booked a suite at Hotel Frenkie right here in Meme City.
They take themselves way to seriously to be fair. Most of posts are either moaning ones or sarcastic and funny ones. Might as well make it a bit colorful allowing images and media some of us are visual types :D

Something called tax. I suspect it would be done as a last resort but you have to pay more than what is owed

Also I believe there is a limit on how much sign on fee can be relative to transfer etc. I also suspect he would actually get a real sign on fee too

Something called tax
And you can’t pay someone higher to cover the tax? You do realise this is a common daily practice.

You or anyone else has zero valid reasons why Utd paying the owed wages isn’t possible due to legalities. There’s multiple loopholes to make it possible.

But you stick with your legal blockade.

I really didn’t think football could get any worse after last season. Looks like we’ve managed to do it.
