They're apparently interested in Sesko who will cost upwards of €40m, Fofana you're talking around €70m minimum, De Jong is going to cost at least €70m so who are they bluffing on?

Fofana £60m bid rejected so you're looking at £70m which is prob about 85m euros.

De Jong is another 85m euros plus if they want a quick deal another 17m for the defered wages. So 100m De Jong, 85m Fofana.

You are looking at closer to 300m spend for Chelsea.

I know Chelsea are looking to make a statement and all, but surely not even they're daft enough to spend that much, especially €100m on a player they have no need for at this moment in time.
I see them going for Fofana, maybe Auba and calling it a day, unless they stockpile some more younger players

I don't see upwards of 250m GBP realistic at all for any club for that matter.

So is it Fofana or De Jong they are going big on? the biggest move for CBs this summer was of course De Ligt, how many top CBs is there? not many. They of course can sell Werner but I think Leipzig will go the loan option.

I generally feel most clubs outside of England are strapped for cash since Covid and they're still going for loan deals.

Yep 300M+ if they go for all of these players and it pretty much means they are out for Rice next summer if they sign Frenkie now. I have to believe their interest is very much in the realms of if the price drops and if their other targets fall through rather than seeing him as a priority. Fofana fills a much more immediate need and with Lukaku gone and Werner and Ziyech nearing the exit they have to do something up top. They can easily compete with their current midfield and go for Rice or Bellingham next summer.

Nobody has posted a meme in almost 24 hours. First sign that the deal is off?

Of course it's not. Have faith, Muppets. Follow the teachings of @Berbaclass @Brownie85 and @Plant0x84 and we will make it to the Promised Land*.

*The Promised Land being 4th place.

Thing with Chelsea and FDJ is, Barca won't accept a lower offer they need the cash.

As much as I dislike McFred, the Fellaini chapter was pure agony. I don't think I've ever been more depressed, continually seeing his name in the line-up. Even seeing his name out here brings back PTSD.
Agreed. Seeing him in the starting lineup used to drain all enthusiasm I had out of the game. He gave his best but it was horrible to watch. And then having games with Fellani and Pogba as our midfield engine. :wenger:

Well, tbh we dont know who they will actually sign, they are doing what we have done over the years and just be linked with everyone. The agents are using Chelsea as well.

Barca, Bayern, PSG have all spend alot of money but the smaller clubs are definitely looking for loans or free transfers.

Look at the business Roma have done.

Center right is pretty excellent.

Arsenal spent £158m last summer after finishing 8th, it's not that far fetched at all imo

Azpi is staying at Chelsea now. Barca have agreed personal terms with Bernardo which hopefully means FDJ shit will speed up!

This rules out any deal to give azpi and alonso as part of FDJ deal. If Chelsea do want FDJ, looks like they’ll have to pay the full 80-85m.

I assume we are waiting on a Ryanair flash sale on flights, then the big lads can get themselves over there again.

Think they are looking for Friday afternoon > Sunday ideally.

Funnily enough PSG aren't in the top 10 of spenders at the moment and one of their signing was from last season.

Are you a believer now? :nervous:

I wouldn't go that far... I'm hinting that it does tie in with this Chelsea talk

I've never said we won't sign him. I just don't believe the narrative that certain posters try to paint as this saga has unfolded. We could offer crazy money to him and Barca and get him. Otherwise he has decisions to make between the 3 clubs - in that scenario I'm not at all confident.

Didn’t Chelsea by that Chukuwukema kid from Aston Villa?

Isn’t he a CM?

Yes but he will be on loan for the next 8 seasons.

Ofcourse but they can’t spend 20 mil for him and then go and buy FDJ for 80 mil straight away.

Maybe they can. I don’t know.

I hope all you Muppets who have stuck with this one from the off are going to be rewarded.

I'm glad I have sat this one out. Hahaha

So Azpi staying at Chelski and Dest wants to stay at Barca. Things are falling into place nicely

This is how other clubs operate. They have top quality even on the bench.

They are stacked in midfield but within a year or so they will probably look to phase out Kante and Jorginho, their two main midfielders. The FDJ signing was described as Chelsea's 'elite succession plan' by one journalist. They have a stack of money to spend and probably see the opportunity. They'll probably even add Rice next summer too.

Yeah they did. But then chelsea sign so many players with zero intention of playing them any time soon. Send them out on loan for a few years then sell them for a profit.

I wouldn’t imagine his signing would have much effect on their intention to sign FDJ.
