French Open 2012

Gasquet was a good junior....never really a great pro. Gets buried when he faces the top 3 mostly and even Murray has now beaten him twice on his "home" court.

Time for Djokovic to bring his A-game as the big players so often do in Grand Slams from the quarters on... otherwise, he'll have another difficult afternoon against Tsonga.

So much talent but a total and complete choker.

I'm not a big tennis person but I've never understood women's tennis, what with how all the highest ratest players always seem to be the ones who lose. Some new one emerges and wins something, and then immediately falls into the pattern of losing constantly.

Rankings in women's tennis don't really matter. Idiots like Wozniacki made it to #1 primarily because Serena can't be bothered to turn up for too many tournaments all year around.

Murray is not good enough to trouble the best tho'.

On clay I agree. On hardcourts he's almost up to Novak's level and I would favour him in a match with Federer and even Nadal at Flushing. The latter mainly because he's never at his best in the Autumn.

I used to like watching women's tennis when we had justin , sharapova and obviously sisters.

Yeah the womens game has slipped in recent years. The Williams sisters are in steep decline and Henin and Clijsters basically gone. Sharapova seems to have made a bit of a comeback lately, but all in all, the likes of Stosuer, Azarenko, and Wojniacki etc are a bit too generic. They need a couple of new players to emerge and start a rivalry.

Djokovic destroying Tsonga so far, 6-1, 2-0 after 26 minutes. What a difference compared to his last match.

Sign of a great player. Picking it up once the second week of a slam rolls around.

Having said that its a lot more even in the 2nd set.

Federer lost the first set to Del Potro. Always felt that was going tough match for him. Can see Del Po making the final here.

Tsonga with some set-points now, very balanced game now.

Got the feel like the crowd has helped a lot.

Tsonga bloody hell. He's been down breaks in 2nd and 3rd sets and he wins both. Tsonga has been incredible and the point on set point

Novak and RF both need to win in 5 to face each now. Here's hoping they both get knocked out

Why are both quarters being played at the same time?? Surely they could've managed it a bit better

Ridiculous scheduling really. All 4 matches should be played at separate times.

The French crowd and commentators are awful - the commentators especially, no neutrality.

I hope Djokovic wins and fecking dances in their faces with a beret on his head.

Hard to feel sorry for Del Potro if he's having issues after the Oscar worthy acting he pulled against Berdych

Djokovic will win. He's had several moments in the past year where he's looked dead and out of ideas and he somehow pulls off a win.

He's had breaks in the 2nd and 3rd sets. It's consolidating them where he's struggled today.

Really impressed with how Tsonga's dealt with the big points. Hope I haven't jinxed him. :nervous:

Dam you Tsonga, dam you. Had 2 match points and really could have won it on the first one. Djoko served well after. He's going to win this match :(
