French Open 2011

Nooooo. Kim loses after being a set and 5-2 up in the 2nd and had a MP :( :(

She fell apart big time. She really rushed back from injury and though and an early exit was obvious. Hopefully she's fully fit for Wimby.

Bolelli has had two breaks in the first set vs Murray and served for the set once but he's thrown them all away.

Murray pretty unimpressive right now.

He's playing right now and I wish I wasn't watching. He's had two breaks and gotten broken back immediately both times. He's struggling to hold serve. It's been the most embarrassing set of tennis I think I've ever seen him play at RG.

Nadal wins the first set 7-5 but I'm seriously disappointed with his performance. The conditions aren't easy but then they're bad for both the players. Those defeats to Djokovic seem to have had an impact on him. His game is becoming far too defensive!

Murray wins 7-6 6-4 7-5. It was a strange match. Bollelli had 9 Break Points in the first set and he served for the first and third sets but couldn't close it out. Good result for Murray though in tough conditions.

New set, same shit. Nadal breaks Andujar and gets broken in the very next game.

I thought Federer is playing today..

What's happening with Nadal, 4:1 down in the third set?!

Bloody hell what a match! Andjugar was just brilliant!

I was massively disappointed by Nadal's poor and defensive tennis today but bloody hell what a comeback that was in the 3rd set.

He was 5-1 and 40-0 down in the third set and Andjugar was serving. Nadal saved a total of 8 (EIGHT) set points and got it to a tie break and won it. Amazing match. It was straight sets but a far tougher match than the 5 setter in the first round.

The conditions were horrible out there but hopefully the 3rd set is a bit of a confidence boost for Nadal who has been really really poor till now.

So Sharapova was 3-6, 1-4 down and won the next 11 games and thus the match?

Amazing comeback from Sharapova there. She was down and out but one line call went her way and Garcia just crumbled. The French Open crowd is bloody pathetic btw. Booing Sharapova at Full Time. I just detest the crowd at RG.

Can hardly blame the RG crowd. By the way heard the commentator comment that there was a player who was stretchered out earlier? Any idea who that was?

Why not? The line call was correct. This crowd are really pathetic. They'll always boo players. It was Murray at Monte Carlo, Rafa almost every year and Sharapova today. They seem more interest in booing than supporting anyone. You can see the connection between Arsenal and France..

As for the player stretched off, I mentioned that in the last comment on the first page. It was Sabine Lisicki. She had match points again the number 3 Zyonareva at 5-2 and managed to throw it away. She had her bloody pressure taken and was stretched off with cramp and was in tears.

Lots of people this week have been criminally throwing away matches, games and sets. Almagro, Adjugar. Sharapova and Sabine Lisicki immediately come to mind.

Veic took out Davydenko in 5 sets. This guy is ranked 227 in the world and had a career record of 0-2 on Clay before this tournament.

He plays Nadal next.

Absolutely. They're atrocious. I've never seen any crowd boo players with the consistency that the RG crowd show.

Oh and the weather and conditions were atrocious today. Nadal, Murray and Sharapova all struggled big time.

Oh my Melzer down 3-0 in the final set to a qualifier Rosol. Bad day for seeds!

This opens up Murray's half though. Melzer was a dangerous floater.

Yep if Murray plays good tennis in the next rounds then he should be in the semi-final.

3rd round: Berrer
Last 16: Dolgopolov/Troicki
QF: Kubot/Falla/Chela/Rosol
SF: Nadal

A semi-final will be very very very hard against Nadal at Roland Garros but Nadal plays not very good so far and it was a close match at Monte Carlo between Murray vs Nadal a few weeks back.

Yup that's an unimaginably easy draw.

Will there ever be an easier path to the semis for anyone?

Pordon, Bolelli, Berrer, Dolgo, Kubot/Falla/Chelsea/Rosol?

It's pretty much a walkover!

Anyway did anyone see Kim's flukiest shot ever today? It hit the net cord, going out, hits the wooden pole of the net and pops back in

I've never seen anything like it before!

pretty poor top half. Murray is average on clay at best. The draws for Nadal and Murray have opened up. Pretty much cakewalks so far and up to the SF's.

Djokovic by far has the toughest draw - Delpo in the 3rd. Probably Gasquet in the 4th, Youzhny who gives him game almost every time and in the SF's Ferrer or Federer.

Yep Djokovic has a dreadful draw. Del Po will be a real test but Gasquet is a famous choker and he'll probably do it again and Youzny's shit.

Nadal's quarter is nowhere as easy as Murray's though. He's got Verdasco and Soderling in his quarter and then Murray in the semis. Not that easy.

Soderling has reached 2 finals in a row and is the only man to beat Nadal on clay and Verdasco is a quality clay courter. It's a good thing Davy got knocked out today or Nadal would have played Davy, Verdasco, Sod, Murray and Djoko/Fed back to back (if he got all the way)

Nadal has the 2nd easiest quarter. Isner, who has done nothing on clay, Andujar, Veic - clowns, 32 years old Ljubicic or Verdasco who is clown and a choker especially on clay(his worst surface) and Sod who has not passed the QF's in any tournament since February...

Gasquet has played well as of late and Youzhny against Djokovic has been always tight.

SO according to you one Del Po who is just back from injury and yet nowhere close to his best level and a Gasquet who has had one good tournament recently suddenly become tougher than the Number 5 Soderling who is playing very well and always seems to do at RG now and Verdasco who is very good on clay? Clay is Verdasco's worst surface? What?! Only last year Verdasco (very seriously) said that only Rafa could beat him on Clay. Which is a bit wrong but he had some very good results on clay!

I really don't think Verdasco and Soderling back to back are too much easier than Del Po and Gasquet.

And it doesn't matter what past record Youzny might have had over Djoko. He's still a very average player. He had beaten Nadal on HC's a couple of times but yet Nadal swept past him in straight sets last year in New York.

Fed's got Tipsy, Stan/Tsonga and Ferrer in his half. Nadal, Fed and Djoko have equally difficult draws. It's only Murray who has a complete walkover.

Why do they always put a fecking tarts match on first. I start work at 2 and won't get to see the rest.

Federer just played a brilliant match against Tipsy. He's through to the 4th round. But he always plays this well in the earlier rounds so hopefully he can repeat it vs Djoko in the semis when the time comes!

The brilliant Youzny finds himself 6-1 down to Montanes. I can really sense this guy (Youzny) causing Djokovic shit loads of trouble!

Wozniacki just lost the first set 6-1 to Hantuchova. This is good

Woziacki is the most embarrassing Number 1 I've seen in a long time. Zero winners in the first set and loses the match 6-1 6-3. Yet to win a Slam. And why the hell was she playing Nice two days before RG started?!

Ivanovic, Jankovic and Safina were just as pathetic. The women's game is really lacking quality. I miss Henin.

Well atleast Ivanovic managed to win a slam. And yes Safina and Jakovic were pretty shocking but Wozzy is right up there with them. She's horrendous. Who hits ZERO winners in an entire set?!

Naa. There's a chance it might not even start today due to the Stan vs Tsonga game.

Doesn't look like Youzny will be causing Djokovic any problems. Got hammered in straight sets by Montanes.

Tsonga 2 sets to love up vs Stan. Novak Del Po will be next.

Fed will be disappointed with Stan losing. He won't be bending over for Fed yet again :p

Yup it's quite a decent match and now with Stan winning the third set it's highly unlikely that Djoko Del Po will start on centre court today. Might shift it SL or Court 1. Shocking scheduling!
