French Open 2011

Wow na li. congrats. I was hoping for her to win. she's going to be on the top 2 very soon, she's a monster.

I honestly didn't think Li had a chance...especially with Schiavone being the defending champion.

But well deserved, 1st Chinese player to win a grand slam(Michael Chang does not count!) and at such a 'late' age.

Quick search around weather forecast websites says it's going to be a day of interruptions. Paris will be met with rain and thunder until 5 pm bst.

Predictions ?

Rafa in 4 for me. If Fed plays like he did against Jokovic, he may have a chance in 5.

Early break for Federer. Had enough break points in that game....

Even if Federer wins the first set I don't see him taking the match. Nadal will play himself out of this little trough as he tends to get stronger as games go on and Federer's level will drop at some stage.

Good comeback by Nadal in this set so far. 2-5 down to 4-5.

What a joke of a set from Federer. Dominated Nadal completely and somehow ended up throwing away not only a break but also got broken himself to now set up Nadal serving for the set (which he will do).

And now Nadal will serve for the set the way you're supposed to.

This is the trend as always. Federer looks fantastic. Doesn't make his numerous opportunities count. Nadal gets his opportunities and makes the most of them. Federer gets fed up.

Roger the Choke Artist.

Nadal losing the 1st set wouldn't have been the end of the world for him...but Federer losing it, means

Game, Set, Match.

You've got the trend totally wrong. Notice Nadal returning now nearly everything, even difficult first serves and balls close to the line while he fecked up easy shots at the start to give Federer free points?

Once Nadal warms up, no more free points for Federer, in fact, he manages to return them in such a way that Federer has to hit 5 high risk shots to close out a point.

So it's Nadal as a slow starter who manages to make Federer look great, but once he gets a grip on him, it's all over. Bit like Barca vs us in the recent years.

I wish Djokovic went through, at least it would have been 50/50. Federer won't win a match against Nadal in his career anymore. He's so deep in Nadal's pocket he'll almost tear a hole in it.

Nadal must think it's christmas everytime he plays Federer. That inconsistent backhand gives him more than half the points he's won in every match he plays the swiss.

Does he get more free points from any other opponent in the tour? Federer is his bitch. Prime or no prime, the guy does not match up against Nadal's game, end of. He needs a serve, volley and forehand like Sampras. Yes, his forehand is not as good as Sampras', which is a far more heavy and powerful shot.

I think the only thing Federer has against Nadal is actually his serve. But yes, the number of unforced errors is shocking.

And he takes them.

Will be the greatest ever comeback if Federer pulls this off. I dont see it though.

Knew Federer would lose the set anyway. He's trying to fight and doing it well, but Nadal's consistency is too much for him. You always expect Federer to make the error when the rally goes on for more than 5 shots.

Nadal's the better player and had the far higher chances to win the tie-break, unless Federer got a better percentage of his first serves in.

Is there any doubt that Nadal completely owns Federer? 17 wins from 25 meetings after this, most of those played during federers golden spell whilst Nadal was still a relative junior, and in the big grand slam meetings? Federer has never beaten Nadal in a final outside of wimbledon.

Amazing player.
