Usually people call United 'Manchester' and still do. And call Man City simply 'City'.

United it is then.

It depends about culture. In my country people call United Manchester and they refer to City as London.

Granted I've only watched YouTube of him, so my opinion becomes justifiably void, but I quite like the look of him.

Good ball carrier.

Fred is a great player with a high energy work ethic, something we currently lack in our engine room. I'm not sure about his height, I think 5'7 or 5'8 but he carries the ball brilliantly in the transition and can unlock defences with a final ball. He controls the tempo of the game with fast 1 and 2 touch passing and would be a perfect compliment to our midfield options, far superior to Seri or Jorginho.

If we have Matic, Pogba, Sergej Milinokovic Savic, Fred, Herrera and McTominay to cover the 3 positions we would be well set to challenge for the premier league, however knowing how we operate in the transfer market we are more likely to have Matic, Feillani, Herrera, A Pereirra, McTominay and Weigl!
:lol::lol::lol:

What do they call the actual London clubs? how confusing. You need to set them straight on that.

I can't blame you for not recalling it, we've probably all blocked the Moyes season from our memories.
Indeed! But, apart from one game against us... We don't have much to go on to decide whether to want this signing or not.

I'll just watch a couple YouTube highlights like everyone else :p

Have any of you actually watched Fred play a full game?

I learnt from the whole Fabinho saga last year that no one actually watches these players, we all just base our opinions on the hype around players. Hence the Fabinho is great and Matic awful views last year.

The hype around Fred right now is putting him at a level of somewhere between “great option to have” to “exactly the midfielder we need”

the city is London. Then there is Arsenal, Chelsea and the others that never win anything. Regarding Manchester City....well.....they are the club who live in United's shadow the equivalent of the other club who somehow live alongside Liverpool.

I remember that. It was funny because it felt like the ratio was 90:10 for people for Fabinho vs for Matic. I was on the Matic train.

...anyways, that doesn’t mean Fabinho or Fred would/will be bad. For all we know Fabinho would have done well to. My argument was we can’t take the risk with another younger player and give him time to develop since United want to compete now and why I wanted Matic to be that sure player who can be relied on. Fred however, he’s not so young and right on. As for the hyping up, I guess that’s natural. He’s not world class. He’s not bad. He’s somewhere in the “good” classification and he’s talented and consistent enough to warrant being a starter if need be and not seem like a forced below average player playing there because we lack the options.

Yep. Too true.

Tbf Fabinho was and still is a good player, I’m sure he could have done the same job as Matic. Jose clearly wanted Matic though so it is what it is.

Fabinho will be going to atletico next season so he’s hardly disappeared.

Sane, Jesus, Stones . All progressed to a top level in a couple of years and with a fair level of consitency whether that be the brand of football, players around them, opportunities or management is a different debate. Can argue it hasnt really worked with us so far with Depay, Shaw, Martial but then look at the established stars we have signed who have done even worse, is a gamble whatever age group we sign, think there are lots of players around the 21 year old age group that would improve us and a couple of teens well worth the gamble....looking at our first eleven we already have four or five players around 30 years of age, personally wouldnt want more than one signing to be of that age group this summer.

I think this guy and his agent are just on the make, drumming up a bit of media insterest before the World Cup.

Fred seems like a decent player with pace and urgency. Wouldn't mind Talisca and Milikovic-Savic though to revamp our midfield.

Talisca for 30m could easily be a steal
Milinkovic-Savic will be our marquee signing this summer

If only there was an outside chance of us selling Sanchez and getting in Griezmann, that along with couple full backs would be a perfect summer.

Ins
Talisca (30m)
Milinkovic-Savic (85m)
Griezmann (40m + Sanchez)
Sandro (40m)
Sidibe (30m)

225m

Midfield options: Talisca, Pogba, Milinkovic-Savic, Herrera, Matic, Periera
Attack options: Griezmann, Lukaku, Martial, Rashford, Lingard

Sadly, we won't buy Griezmann or sell Sanchez. Let's see what happens.

Another Mourinho Fred!

Why does he look like he's always on the verge of losing the ball? Reckon he'd get found out in the prem if he's always hanging onto the ball like that in the middle of the pitch while trying to maintain possession by last ditch touches of the ball.

That being said, I love how he seems to be able thread the ball so well between tight spaces and see the pass on the first place.

Reckon he'd do well with a little freedom a little closer to the attackers. If he'd he's a bit deeper in the middle of the pitch, hell get caught in possession way too often I reckon.

I will be extremely surprised but perhaps in a good way if we sign this guy. From what I've seen of Mourinho's targets he doesn't fit the mold at all. But thats what would be good, that Mourinho isnt quite as predicatable and limited in the types of players he wants to bring into the club.

Hmm, seems to have a habit of dribbling it inside and passing with his left. Doesn't seem limited by it though, but the best defenders would pick up on that and make use of it.

Have MEN ever actually broke something like this? It's only them as the source in that article.

Matic transfer. Samuel Luckhurst reported ManUtd interest in May.
