The less said the better really, got progressively worse as the game went on.

It actually is, just pure panic like and lashing out to then just barely get a tip of the ball with no control over where its going to go
 
One of the worst performances I have seen from a United player ever. Absolutely terrible from the first minute of the game.
 
That's Fred. He can be brilliant in game and absolutely dogshite in the next one. No inbetween.
 
I’m not as critical as most about Fred but that was a difficult watch. Frightening how many times he gave the ball away and conceded possession, and was rarely an option for the defence to pass to.

A lot of our half chances fell to him too which was equally as infuriating.
 
It was mistakes after mistakes from him today. But who could we have fielded instead of him though?
 
Think we saw more of the Sao Paolo Lee Cattermole than Careca tonight. Truly awful display
 
Amen...on show tonight for the Fred cult to see. Surely this isn't acceptable even if he presses, brings energy bla bla all the things a man utd should possess anyway. Time to wake up
 
Showing off his extremes today. He looked the deeper of the two midfielders which we know doesn't suit him, and they were both pretty shite.
 
People are just upset because he didn't score one of his jammy goals today. He wasn't that bad.
 
Wasn't a great night for a lot of the lads but he really let the side down. Seemed to lack any kind of discipline at all, rarely offered an outball for the defence and then when he did he'd pass it straight to a Leeds defender more often than not! He made it impossible to assert any real control on the game.

If there was absolutely anyone to replace him with for the next game you would, but there isn't, so we just have to hope he pulls his head out of his arse in time for the next game.
 
I am already missing Eriksen. This guy cannot be trusted. He is just so erratic.
 
A horrible match by him tonight. Can you please stop trying to pass the ball into the back of the net from outside the box!! …or give away the ball in dangerous areas.

Possibly not which is saying something about some of the previous performances he's put in. He was a genuine liability offensively and defensively tonight.

To be fair he's been much better recently but someone in here recently said he's one of our 3 most important and best players this season. I'd love to try some of what that guy's been on, it must be quality stuff.
 
I usually tend to defend him, but that was one of the worst performances from a United player ever. He failed almost every time he touched the ball (at least when he tried something progressive) and he defended poorly for their opener and several other times.
 
Awful performance from him. Just comes to prove we need quality reinforcements in midfield next summer.
 
He just confirmed again why we are so reliant on Eriksen. I can’t remember who it was who said “we are fine with Fred filling in” but I wonder if they still think that.

Sabitzer might do a decent job of covering for Eriksen but, as we’ve seen, he can’t do it if he’s busy worrying about what Fred is doing. Which leads me to this - we’re shit without Case.

As a few have rightly said, we were always light in midfield and it showed tonight.

Fred, of course, has something to offer. He has to come in as a third CM against the top teams with superior midfields and/or at the end of games to snuff out late rallies from the opposition IF we are already winning.
 
That was some performance. Jesus.

He’s been great for weeks, but this is why he’s a squad player. He still has that sort of shit in the locker.
 
Even putting aside how awful he was on the ball there is the knock on effect his performance had on other players positioning. He’s chasing the ball like a lost dog leaving acres of space that have to be filled by other players. All the energy in the world is fecking useless if it’s wasted energy.
 
The worst thing about him is he offers zero security and protection whenever he receives the ball. He’s tiny, sure, so he can’t shield the ball in a way taller midfielders can, but he should be able to use his low centre of gravity to be agile and slip away. Instead he loses nearly every 50/50
 
I still do think he is a good squad player, but fecking hell, I can't quite believe how bad he was today. He is choatic and inconstent but I just hope today will never happen again. Understand ETH not putting Iqbal or Maiinoo in a game like that though but could have left Sabitzer on and brought Lindelof on earlier for Fred.
 
This guy has an extreme range of performances. Can at times be the most woeful footballer you have seen and then next game manages to put in a 9/10.

Too inconsistent with regards to the importance of the position he plays. Squad backup? I dont think he has the quality to be a Utd player. He works his socks off but at this level you have to have more about you.
