Well yeah every situation is different, but the approach from clubs tends to stay the same. For our Lingard/Pereira situation they will have a transfer ban to speak of.

I'm not saying that I disagree with the Lampard sacking BTW. You can't spend all that money and be mid-table at the midway point of the season. My comment was simply aimed at those people now crowing about Ole vs Frank (which was never a real thing anyway) and taking an 'I told you so' stance. I'm very grateful to be a fan of a club that gives a manager the time to build something. Ole wouldn't have survived at Chelsea either.

I absolutely agree with that. Justin is already superior in my opinion to Chilwell and can only improve at that age. Leicester's transfer dealings have been excellent lately. I really like Maguire but you guys came off better in that too considering the transfer money involved.

Again I wonder if Lampard really wanted them transfers though. Rice seemed to be a target of his but was ignored. For what its worth I'd love Rice at United and hope that this opens a path for him to come here. Almost none of the players brought in have outperformed the guys from last year (when Chelsea were actually a damn good side with a poor GK). We know Roman has previous with this type of thing.
 
For as long as Chelsea are below us I'd of liked to see Lampard push on and continue. 18 months is not long enough, though I do accept the job at hand with Chelsea is nowhere near the scale of that at say Arsenal and ourselves. Secondly, he's a young English manager and we are bereft of any real quality up and coming managers at the very highest level. From that perspective, it's too bad.

I'm sure he'll bounce back and probably re-build his managerial legacy in the championship and earn the right to manage in the prem.

I have no idea how to interpret this, it did make me smile.

United allowed Ole a lot of grace to turn the team around. It's a shame for Frank, that is Chelsea..

I didn't rate Lampard at all but I still think it's harsh to sack him now. Thought his iconic playing days at Chelsea would buy him more time but maybe it did, maybe other Chelsea managers would have gone weeks ago.

Seems unfair not to give him a chance to turn it around.
 
Harsh on Lampard. It was always going to take time with the amount of young players and new signings they have. Lampard has been clear on that in every interview I've seen with him this season.
 
Poor Rice will never have his dream move to Chelsea now. Though I wish Lamps had of been sanctioned silly money to buy him.

Has Roman ever made a statement after sacking the manager?

Feel bad for Frank but that's what we do as a club. We've been shite since December and us sacking a manager mid season hasn't done us much harm going forward.
 
I belive this is almost as much fear for loosing out on Tuchel, as it is Lampard not delivering. If Tuchel was still employed at PSG, i belive Lampard would be given at least a few more games.
 
Tuchel will probably be able to get Werner and Havertz playing. Good coach. He's a creepy weirdo, though.
 
Was inevitable with their poor run and the likes of big money signings like Werner & Havertz performing so poorly since being signed. Especially after the summer they had, they were sort of seen as the team to push Liverpool and City for the title.

Roman isn’t afraid to pull the plug if things are going bad regardless of what your status at the club is.

That was Lampards big error. Not doing well enough.

Ziyech has been excellent in my opinion
 
Inevitable with the money Lampard spent and the position they now find themselves in. Also shows the standards/mentality of the club though. Abramovich wants to see tangible progress for his investment. Must be nice to have an owner that really does care about winning the big prizes and will not accept mediocrity.

Be interesting if a new manager can get the squad going again. You would think Werner and Havertz have a hell of alot more to give.
 
I really did not see this firing so soon. Thought Chelski had a new approach of bringing through youth alongside their young talented front line. I know their league position is not great, but as we have seen the table can change dramatically within a month (it would not be unfeasible for them to catch us for example). Plus still in FA Cup and Champions League so not all bad.

It does leave Abramovic looking a bit of an ass in my opinion. If he wasnt going to give more than 18 months to Frank he should have gone for experience at the time (cant recall who was available though).

Tuchel will be the man, wonder how Silva will take to that...

I assume for the team the initial new manager bounce but then feel Tuchel is not going to know what hits him compared to the stroll he had in the Uber Eats league.
 
Find it absolutely baffling the club leaked hit pieces to a club legend of theirs. Athletic already out with a few scathing articles.
 
Imagine the Chelsea supporters will be torn with this one.
When all that money was spent in the summer, the expectations were sky high. Being backed is a way of setting a manager up to succeed but funnily enough it has set him up to fail. Far too many new players bedding in in one go, Frank just isn’t experienced enough to handle what is already a very difficult job.

Frank needs to come back in September at a lower level and learn his trade before taking a step up again.

Not sure Tuchel is the right choice for Chelsea. I think Allegri would have been the right choice, he very much fits into modern Chelsea mould of a manager and Tuchel doesn’t.

But this time it was Lampards faul. He lost the dressing room, not someone else. He favoured players like Mount to expensive foreign signings, not someone else. He played Kepa for the entirety of the last season when anyone with a brain of a hedgehog would have demoted him.

Who can lampard blame, dare I ask?
 
Should have had more time. Signed so many players in the summer, it would need time to gel

Even though it's Chelsea it feels a bit harsh. I thought being Frank Lampard would at least give him a full season with the new players. No f given by Roman.

Irrelevant for this season and Mount wasn't a regular but he earned his place since those foreign signings did feck all.
