Frank Lampard

Chelsea have literally been the worst side in England for the last 6 months. I still can’t believe Cole etc are soft balling them. What periods of consistency can he even be pretending there was this season? They need a lot more than a goalscorer

he’s been quite unlucky that at each club he’s managed he’s been expected to get results that aren’t just constant losses.

I think even the most deluded Chelsea supporter will now admit that Lampard isn't a football manager, a head coach or whatever.

He's best off just enjoying his millions/retirement after this stint, surely? Maybe he could write a (cook) book?

Needs three years and £200m to spend before you can in any way judge him as a manager.

And anyone who says otherwise has some nasty agenda to undermine a club legend. He almost beat that Ancelotti hipster tonight don’t forget.

Super Franks at the helm
And he won’t underwhelm

What’s the chance he gets the sack if they lose another couple?

Nah, they're not getting Champions League and they're not getting relegated. They'll just suck it up this season whilst they take time to get the 'right' appointment for next season. The only thing that would force their hand is a fan revolt.

It is great to watch though.

He started the game 2 nil down, and didn't bring on an actual goalscorer until there were just 25 minutes left.

He is to football mangement what eddie the eagle was to ski jumping.

Presumably because he loves the club and was absolutely NEVER going to get the chance to manage a top-level club again?

I would (hypothetically of course) say yes to managing United no matter how bad they were.

Taking a bad version of United and making them immeasurably worse sounds like a really terrible way to ruin something you love though! You’d just spend every day doubting yourself, taking criticism from people who want to support you but can’t, knowing it’s all going to end soon with no expectation of things getting better. If he continues this way it’ll absolutely wreck him, I reckon.

Looking at that starting line up today I'd think that Chelsea was protecting a 2 goal lead not chasing one. WTF is Lampard thinking? 5 defenders and 5 midfielders? Chelsea is a hot mess. They have an owner playing the most expensive game of football manager ever and a manager that I seriously think I would be better than. Absolute shambles. Imagine telling Lukaku that he can't get a game even though they don't have a single striker in their squad...

They were actually better under Potter. Lampard might be the first caretaker manager to get the boot.

Can't really blame him for anything that happens over the caretaker stint but there was enough evidence to suggest he's one of the worst managers to ever grace the league way before this move.

No mercy here, no mercy. They fell flat on their ass and saying they performed well or decently is pure deluded talk.

He set his team up to counter at home when down 2 goals, set up with a back 5, and went into damage control.

Every team in the CL will try to get into the game when their backs are up against it and they are on their last breath. So that shitshow is indicative of Frank, a shitshow of a manager. He didn't have a clue as to how to setup his team across 2 legs and give his team a legitimate chance of at least equalizing across two legs.

Chelsea is safe from getting sucked into the relegation battle, but their players should pack it in now. Zero to play for in England. If United did that last year with Ralf being a lame duck, then it'll happen to a much worse manager and tactitian that is Lampard. Oh, he also failed once before with this team and doesn't have a Ronaldo ego to stroke. feck off Frank.

@SilentWitness will just put it down to lack of luck or bad career decisions

Really puts Palace in a bad light (the 0-3 win Everton got)

Honestly the decision to appoint him was one of the most braindead decisions I've seen in football for a long time. Chelsea are in big trouble with Boehly in charge
