Yeah but face it Davey he's injured as often if not more than Giggs is and you no longer have adequate cover IMO in one of the most important positions on the pitch and despite Owen being a one trick pony he does that one trick rather well. Hence Fowler being sold by a rash Thommo is a bad move.
Furthermore when you play the defensive style of football that your lot do you really need finishers in your team to take advantages of the few chances you'll get in game. Heskey has proved he may hold the ball up well and win headers but he's no finisher. Litmanen is finished let's face it - the guy must be seething and regretting moving to Liverpool to sit on the bench like he did at Barca. Baros is totally unproven. So when Owen's out you have a problem which you won't be able to rely on your midfielders to solve for you.

It's not nonsense mate - everything I have said makes sense. You lot will be far poorer as a squad without Robbie Fowler. Once Owen's injured and you rely on Heskey and Litmanen you'll see.
