Football Manager Wonderkids who never were...

Robinho? He scored something silly like 60 a season in one version with ease.

Freddy Guarin was an absolute beast on one as well. 2005 I think.

My personal favourites are Cavenaghi in 2005 and Assulin in 2006. Cavenaghi and Rooney were brilliant together and Assulin was the main man at my Derby county CL winning team.

Gabriel Torje, Zeefuik, Sotiris Ninis, Ismail Aissati and Henri Saviet.

Couldn't get his initial attributes

Btw you guys remember how awesome Ronaldo was in the game back then? Players were rather overrated in the 09 edition though

FA Premier League manager 2001
Titus Bramble
Nicolas Pennetau

CM 01/02
Andres D'Allesandro
Franco Costanzo
Fernando Cavenaghi
Mark Kerr

CM 4
Jelle Van Damme
Julius Aghahowa
Kennedy Bakircioglu

Moukoko was a beast. He was like the FM/CM version of Ronaldo or Messi in real life.

Allessio Cerci

Can't remember which edition, I think it was 05/06ish but I bought him for United and loaned him out to Milan for a season because I already had Ronaldo and Giggs.

He scored/assisted about 15/15 from the wing and came straight back into my first team the following year as a "world class player".

There was a 15 year old Norwegian kid named JR (yes, just JR) on CM03-04 who would just dominate games and score three or four on a regular basis no matter what level. All he had was maxed out stats in pace, acceleration, dribbling and technique, but that was more than enough. You could get him for free with pretty much any club. Every time I started in the lower leagues I'd get him and have him drag me all the way up to the top division on his own.

While on this topic, can anyone give me a link to download FA Premier League Manager 2001? I absolutely adored that game.

Fotso Geremi - Legend
A certain Leo Messi in the Barca Reserves would appear in 2003-04 and would never move beyond a 68-70 rating.
Played Raul till he was 41.
Played Giggs and Vieira till they were 40 plus.

Great times.

From last years FM i had 3 young Brazillians i always signed due to the cheap release clauses and wonderful potential... Wellington Nem who is now at Shaktar and doing naff all... Adryan,, supposed to be good in Brazil and Ademilson.

Nani and Anderson were great in FM05. Remember buying them both and then being really pleasantly surprised when we did the same in real life some years later.

Iago from Barcelona was always a wonderkid but I think he's struggling in the Spurs' reserve team or something now.

Henri Saivet was an absolute beast as well. He was the best player in my FM08 team which also had Aguero, ronaldo, Messi, Tevez and VDV.

The best named footballer of all time.

Tonton Zola Moukoko.

I think this goes back to a time when it was still called Championship Manager. Possibly 98/99?

He would pretty much guarantee you a goal or assist per game if you brought him off the bench for the last 20 minutes, and played him as a forward running No.10 behind two orthodox strikers. The ultimate super sub bar none.

How has no one mentioned Anatoli Todorov, he was one hell of a legend back in 03/04.

I remember I always used to sign Mika Aaritalo too.

Mark Kerr, from Falkirk. Not sure which version of the game, possibly just after it went from Championship Manager to Football Manager. A beast in midfield.
Maxim Tsigalko was a goal machine as well.

2001/02. Pretty easy to pick up for £500k or so. Had a decent-to-middling career in the SPL.

From the old CM01/02....

Kennedy Bakircioglü
Eldar Hadžimehmedović
Per Ciljan Skjelbred
Anastasios Skalidis
Maxim Tsigalko
To Madeira
Isaac Okoronkwo
Andri Sigþórsson
Stefan Selaković

Mike Duff for me is the main one I remember - and Vanden Borre in more recent times. Has had a good career - but was a legend in FM 08 ish

From CM 02 (I think) had Bosko Balaban who was brilliant.
From LMA manager 04 til 06: G Rivaldo, Gago, Rajkovic, Babel, Gomis, Isaksson, Kelvin Langmead, Maxi Lopez

Ben Sahar from Championship Manager 2008. He was a FREAK. Also, Craig Lindfield from Liverpool was also crazy good in that game.

Ben Sahar from Championship Manager 2008. He was a FREAK.

I remember he was at Chelsea on one of my saves and he was one of the best players in the world. Matias Fernandez also on FM 08 was world class used to sign him whenever I needed a winger.

Pato in FM 11 is the one that stands out for me in one of my saves with AC Milan he scored 50 goals in a season.

Nigel Reo-Coker was amazing on one of the Champ Manager games, was either 01/02 or 02/03 I think. There was another one from Wimbledon to called Lionel Morgan I think

Lionel Morgan. He was once considered to be England's solution to the left wing, and I signed him to replace/rotate with Giggs. Was actually a good prospect IRL until injuries ruined him and forced him to retire very early. Can't even remember which game, probably one of the CM's.

Henri Saivet was immense, as was Bojan.

Shout out to what's his name, Martin Galvan?

Anatoly Todorov and Daniel Braathen. The former was a clinical and complete striker, the latter became C.Ronaldo with his lightning pace and good all around attributes. CM 03/04 I believe

And no one's mentioend Maxim Tsigalko either? Unless i've missed it? He was a freak

To be fair, those stats on the last one may be over inflated... but he did score an insane amount of goals.

Yeah he was an exceptional goal machine. Although there is no way he is managing an average rating of 9.82 without some rampant cheating going on.

Aye Duff was about £10k and would soon develop into Cafu.

My personal favourite was Daniel Fredheim Holm in FM06, signed him three times in a single game.

Playing on a Championship team Kenny Deuchar and Zander Diamond were cheap brilliant signings from Scottish clubs.

Most have been mentioned but yeah, I think Bojan was the best I've ever had in a game in 08. Bought him from Barca for €5m or something and he used to score 60 a season and always won WPOTY.
