Gaming Football Manager 2025 | Cancelled

If the game launches and it's quickly found to have the same issues with the physical attributes being by far the most important (and not even just physicals, acceleration and pace do most of the heavy lifting) then it's effectively a dead franchise to me.
Same for me. I haven't played for a few years, but I've been wanting to get back into it. I just can't get myself to do it with what has come out about the match engine.
Initially I stopped because I got annoyed with a lot of the busywork and horrendous player interactions, but now that's not the worst thing about it anymore.

So when you get to the end of the 2030/31 season the database currently sends you back in time to 777 and your players turn into fighters for king Offa, preparing to fight some Welsh people. If your survive the many wars in between this time and the invention of organised football then you can replay again. This time when you get to 2030/31 you get sent back to 1261. Where you have to go through Constantinople being recaptured by Nicaean forces under Alexios Strategopoulos for Emperor Michael VIII, re-establishing Byzantine Empire. But .. nobody really knows why because you've completely this level already

I'm weirdly starting to feel like if this actually does come out, I'll be genuinely interested in playing it. It's like the cathartic experience of completely discounting and ignoring FM for a year (honestly several years, to a lesser degree) has reawakened something in me. Now I get to be disappointed when this turns out shit.

I agree. I posted saying I'm not wanting to buy it anymore but it will be very hard for me not to. I love FM and whenever the new game comes out I never fail to be excited by it.

So the natural progression towards the Civilization series is complete

120 mill?! Wtf

Even if you hired 500 Senior Software Engineers and 100 Principal Engineers paying them on average 120kGBP per year London salaries, still only cost you 80 mil or less.

And I highly fecking doubt that SI have that kind of calibre of engineering quality and quantity.

actually a quick glassdoor search shows the average salary for a senior engineer at SI only gets paid 56-62kGBP. Linkedin search shows they have less than 500 employees in TOTAL.

what the hell did they piss away 120 mill on?

Did you not see Miles's avatar a few years back

Trips to Brazil cost money.

Reinstalled 2012.

Edited the database to have Fergie move into the boardroom so I don't have to feel bad about taking his job. Feel it could have happened after we lost the CL final the season prior.

Got £15 million left for transfers and the scouts won't fecking shut up about a 20-year-old Jack Rodwell.

I think 2012 was the one where Javier Hernandez was maybe the best player in the world and used to bag me 50+ goals a season. Had him and Neymar and they were unstoppable.

Fm12 had the best interface. Everything was smooth. Great game.

Hopefully this at least means that Miles's head is on a pike in Sega head office before the end of the day.

Well, it was obvious all along the game was nowhere close to being ready. They made a big deal of the Unity engine and new match engine graphics and we haven't seen a single pic of the match engine till date. SI embarrassed themselves with all this.

Pretty sure FM26 will be a buggy mess on release too. They just don't have enough time to fix all the issues by then. I expect a few more features being cut so that game can be "ready".

Good decision. Silly buggers though and they should be offering something for players next release.

I’m pretty sure we won’t see an FM26 either. This entire mess has ruptured the trust they commanded from a loyal fanbase. I also suspect things aren’t all that great internally. I expect Miles to leave his position in the next few weeks too.

With the profit margins SI have been raking in across previous years, you’d at least expect better communication and organisation around timelines.

I used to work in the gaming industry around 10 yrs ago and even then SI didn't had the best of reputation. The feeling in the industry was that they are extremely complacent and they take their fans for mugs. Thus I am not surprised that they messed up this big change

Agreed.

No sense in releasing something they’ll have to patch the hell out of just to make it useable.

Can’t imagine Sega are too happy.

Surprise surprise.

I hope all the ones who pre ordered got their money back.

So FM26 will just be FM25 with more time to work on it.

Given they had two years and don't seem to be anywhere near a release, I'm not convinced another 9 months will change much. They will probably have a game by then, but it's likely to be a mess.

Doesn't seem like there's anything outside a UI that exists for it at this present time.

I hope they won't dare give us the FM lite version they promised in fm25
