Gaming Football Manager 2021 (FM21)

Will I be shunned in this thread as an FM mobile enthusiast?

Anyway, I wonder if the database is similar. For any of you lower league managers out there, I picked up Jake Scrimshaw when he got released by Bournemouth at the end of my second season and he got 39 goals for my Weymouth team in the NL last year, winning the golden Boot by a country mile. So far has 8 in 6 this season.

This is my fifth season and I'm yet to go up. I won the FA Trophy but 14th, 4th, 8th and 5th placed finishes so far.

Also, release clauses are a pain in the arse, but I was forced to sell 3 different players but got £275k, £325k and £160k respectively, which means I'm able to now run £8k a week under my wage bill. After picking up some really good young players on frees for cheapish wages, I've built a squad that should be playing League 1. Played 6 won 6 so far.

As we like to shout on the terraces, UP THE MUFF!

EDIT: speaking of young players. I had this lad come through my youth system and he looks class. He will go for big money if I develop him properly. But here's the thing. I'd like to get at least one good season our of him before he moves on. The thing is he is a MR. I use a wing back system and I never change from it. Meaning there's just no place for an MR in my team. I sent him to be converted to a striker because his attributes suggest he'd score for fun, but my assistant just told me he isn't taking to it. Should I see if I can get him signed to a new contract and ship him off on loan?

Just got beaten by the 20th placed team for the third time this season. Also the winning goal was Robbie Brady's first of the season on May 1st.

Has anyone signed Joao Palhinha? Getting good scout reports and his stats/personality look good but my midfield is already quite well stocked. If anything I just need cover, but my scouts say he'd be my best midfielder.

First time in the CL, drawn against Juve, Atletico and some randoms, and my Forrest side is killing it. Hammered Juve 4-0 and 5-0 (tbf was 1-0 until the last 10 minutes in both games), and beat Atletico and the other team. Esposito with 7 goals already just 4 games into the group stage. He's become a beast. But keeps agitating for a move so im not sure if I'll manage to keep him past the season. Probably need trophies to do it.

@Berbaclass have you had any luck loaning players when it says they're not interested in it? I've got Gasparini but he's nowhere near ready for the first team and I'm not sure if there's a way I can chat to the player and convince him. I've tried offering him out requiring zero wage contribution but the clubs don't think he'd want to join them. It's really annoying.

Yeah, that can be a frustrating thing. I just generally keep trying. One thing I do is when I sign young players is most of the time promising they will be loaned for development so they are more open to it or even expect it.

It makes me wish I had the editor active because now he's going to stall thanks to shit AI.

I played him at CB in my Sporting save and he was class.

My new CB is an absolute beast.

I just feel... empty...

Been playing a save with Parma and really overachieving, staying within the top 7 for most of the season.
Had a really poor patch of form towards April and dropped out altogether, ending up in a battle for 7th with Atalanta and Napoli.

Last matchday, things looked bleak. I was in 8th behind both Atalanta and Napoli, and I was against 2nd placed Roma.
Somehow I managed a 1-0 victory against Roma, and Atalanta lost their match, with napoli drawing, meaning I finished 7th!...

....Except I finished ahead of Atalanta, who had previously won the Coppa Italia against Juventus, therefore taking away my last ditch Europa league spot.

Not sure how I'm going to continue the motivation to carry on after that farce

I won the league!

Now I'm contemplating whether my youthful squad can compete in league 2 keeping me well under my wage bill.

"No offers for this player on loan, he has only just signed a new contract"

Who gives a fuuucck? That's part of the reason he's going on loan! It has no relevance! feck off.

Goalkeepers are so hard to shift. I know it’s a specialist role and most teams have a good goalkeeper. But my all conquering Inter side just accepted a low ball offer from Brighton for my world class goalkeeper (only selling him as I have two youth prospects ready for first team football) I’m surprised he didn’t turn it down as he’s on lower wages too. Must be that pebble beach.

Ah man. That youngster I was talking about. I persisted with his training and it eventually took. He starts bangibg in goals in League 2 and Peterborough trigger his release clause. £500k is huge to the budget, but it's pretty annoying.

Just out of curiosity does this happen to anyone else? Before every big game (vs City or Liverpool, or cup finals) I have at least one key player out with a training injury, like clockwork. Just right now again, playing Liverpool and 2 days ahead of the game de Gea out for 3 weeks, hasn't been injured at all so far in my save game. 2 weeks later, a game against City, Rashford picks up a cold 6 days out and one day before the game Sancho gets injured.

I could already bet if I have to play one of the two in a cup final this season or manage to get to the CL final I will again have one or two key players out with injuries.

I got this on mobile. I'm so frustrated.

I'm playing as Luton and came third in championship by 1 point.

Then I lost in the playoff final. I was winning 1-0 and fecking conceded 2 goals in the 88 and 90 minute

Maybe like 50% of the time in my experience on this game. The full squad though not just my key players.

I guess it depends on what your doing with training and how well you manage your match loads etc.

yeah I always know a player will pick up an injury before a final, even for the AI

Wooo a fellow mobile player. I go through random 3 or 4 game periods where all of my strikers forget they have feet.

I could not play this game on anything but mobile. It's a toilet game for me and I have IBS
 I play at work usually. I actually really like the mobile version. If I could have just a bit more financial control (like prize money, income, expenditure etc) and more realistic crowd numbers in lower leagues it would be close to perfect.

I initially got pissed because Luton young CB Gabriel Osho was missing. Thankfully he's the only one. But it's strange as he is more popular than our 16 year old yoofs, who have all made it in

Arsenal came in for Koopmeiners and I asked for 50m. They agreed. Delighted I've gone and signed Declan Rice for 49.5m ony for Koopmeiners to reject Arsenal.

Basically spent most of my budget ffs. I will need to shift Koopmeiners for less now. Brought in Jordan Henderson on a free though which was handy.

I struggle to get any players to leave at the moment weirdly.

I have players constantly rejecting United/Bayern/Barca etc

Tyrick Mitchell just turned down Milan. I'd already agreed to sign Reguilon.

Game is winding me up at the moment with the lack of realism. I've just had a 33 year old Andros Townsend refuse to move to any club as well.

I started managing in South America much more recently with traditionally big clubs to get the hang of it. Won the CWC with Boca Juniors against Bayern with a proper park the bus tactic.

Oh and injury waves seem to always hit the same position. Currently all 3 of my CMs Camavinga, Valverde and Bentancur all picked up injures within the span of one week. Last injury wave was Sancho, Daniel James and Lemar so all my first team wingers gone, two of them even in one game.

Got this guy for £44k

And this one for his release clause (£7m) but damn. Almost first team already.

Nice prospects.

With Almedia aging, and Grimaldo a sicknote I've brought in these 2 Brazilians to replace them.

11 games in to my Albion Rovers save and we have the worst home record in the league and the best away one. Playing a 4-2-3-1, scoring and conceding a lot. Just need the home form to click and we'd be in business.

Expectation was to avoid relegation, that will be easy enough. Eyeing the playoffs if we can just do something at home now.

Wage demands of my players are getting a bit crazy. Daniel James, who is no more than a squad player for me just asked for 250k pw. Yeah, feck off mate I'd rather give the playing time to Pellestri or one my new gen that looks ace than pay you that amount of money.

Oh yeah and City just singed Haaland for 182M €. Thought about bidding too but had already spalshed 96M € on de Ligt and 60M on Koundé to improve my defense and my transfer budget is gone with those transfers.
