Gaming Football Manager 2021 (FM21)

Madness. How do you get any idea of how your team is playing?

I don't really care much about the style of play as long as my team scores a lot and I am winning with my preferred formation. I look at statistics and form mainly to decide who to play and who to drop etc. I like to play the game where I can finish a season in a weekend without having to spend 10 hours of each day to get through a season.

I currently have a skin that allows me to quick sim games (takes 10 seconds), so if it is games against worse opposition then I will quick sim depending on how much I need a win and if I can risk doing it. Big games i.e top 6-10 in the division I will play the game through but on commentary only, and cup semi/finals i will watch the game on extended.

I used to watch all the games but didn't feel like I needed to because I would usually do decent regardless.

18 months in on that save. I've been playing a different save recently though.

Determination that high always gets me excited!

Well the biggest improvement over FM20 seems to be the ME, which you don't care much about. The match UI, on the other hand, seems the most dividing change. It's quite different for now, but hopefully they will tweak it for the full release. It doesn't seem very intuitive and many are voicing their concerns.

Other than that there will be some minor issues that will need balancing such as the amount of corners, perhaps AI transfers are a bit wacky atm too and so on. I'd resist buying it as much as possible until the full release but I don't see much harm in getting it right now either and with the weekend almost here, I don't know! I wouldn't start a serious save now though.

Thanks man :)

Fancied a save in the German league this year and holidayed forward a few times to see who might materialise in their 3rd tier with a bit of novelty value. Managed to get Lokomotive Leipzig so Operation Feck Red Bull is well and truly a go.

My god, the first season is such a massive slog with the covid adjusted schedule. The second season is som much less intense. The season effectively started in October in Portugal in season one and August in season two and it makes such a difference with how games are spaced out!

Barca came in and bought Nuno Mendes my LB for £41 Million on deadline day but I managed to replace him with Mykolenko for £18.5 Million!

I just saw the Bayern squad, they are terribly rated squad for how good they are. Davies rating must be one of the worst scouting job.

1860 Munchen! Was my best save in FM20

Well, things in Portugal couldn't really be going much better in the first half of the season. Benfica are a fecking machine though...

We've progressed so much from last season where I very nearly got sacked because the team absolutely bottled the end of the season. Finished 4th in the end. We are back with a vengeance though!

And the current table...

wC52rEZ.png

This is how I'm currently lining up. I've ditched the 4-3-3 and gone a bit more offensive with the 4-2-3-1.

Also here are my transfers for the last windows

And the loans...

Are all rapid players braindead? They inevitably run half the length of the pitch, beating few defenders and take on an absurdly srupid shot. The commentary always goes "great play by so and so until the finish"

This happens all the time and I think I've been seeing it from FM 12.

indeed. This is the one thing that has never been fixed.

Got last years one having not played in years and really enjoyed it. Wasn’t going to get the new one. But I’m liking the reaction here.

might try CDKeys. Is it legit? Seems very cheap. If you get the beta on CD Keysyou automatically get the full release?
CDKeys are legit mate, I've bought ps+ off them before. I'm not sure about the latter question sorry.

 That’s crazy... takes me back to CM2001/2002 days.
Thats why I still do it, guess its because of the first ever CM that came out with Ronaldo, Vieira at AC Milan, those were the days!

The problem I've found is, even with fm18, the commentary only is not great, sometimes it'll just pop up with a player scoring and not saying anything about it.

Thanks mate. I took the plunge.

With United, first season. 50/1 to win the champions league. “Such good odds clearly point to the fact that we’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the latter stages”

Have just about finished cobbling together whatever freebies and loans I can find who are capable of running about a bit, tackling, and threatening from set pieces. The big Italian teams were a surprising source of cheap loanees. Highlight of the save so far is this fecking basketball player from Milan managing to injure himself 4 hours and 32 minutes after signing.

Another year, another set of bizarre stats for players.

Luke Shaw has 8/20 vision despite the best thing he offers in attack being an early pass in behind the defence to set our attackers off on a counter attack. Thats a trademark Shaw pass

Apparently Lindelof, Bailly and Tuanzabe are better than Jones in the air.

Also Greenwood scored the most goals in the premier league last season from outside the box per 90 mins out of regularly starting players. He averaged a goal from outside the box in just over every 3 matches in the premier league. His efforts are almost always on target and usually into the corner of the goal. He has 12/20 long shooting

Jones had played 3 games in his career.

Tuanzebe is criminally under rated attributes wise, Rashfords mentals are too low, and Cavani is way too good.

Anyone managing a big club, the first must sign player is Florian Thauvin. You can sign him on a free in January, but definitely bring the transfer forward, it will cost you around 10,000,000. Have a look at this.

My first season, and the treble is on, which either says the game is too easy, man utd are over rated, or I'm just unreal.

In the 1/4 finals of the CL, going into the second leg with a 1-0 away win in the pocket against Atalanta, top of the league by 2 points with a game in hand over Liverpool and City, and have a Semi Final in the FA Cup coming up against Watford. One thing I've noticed is that all my strikers are chipping in quite evenly with 15-20 goals each (Martial, Cavani, Greenwood, Rashford) with Sancho, Thauvin, and Bruno coming in with 10-12 goals and assists each.

Won the treble in my first season with United with my only major signing being Rabiot (who now wants to leave ), United are far too good in this.

I am finding the transfers more realistic in FM21. In FM20 you could unsettle the player and eventually get them for market value or less if you kept it up for a few months. Tried this 3/4 times in FM21 and hasn't worked the same. Even when the relationship breaks down and the end up transfer listed its 3/4x their market value.

Jones and Bailly are almost impossible to get rid of - even on loan/free so that's realistic too!

Youre welcome mate. Is it good the new one? I went from fm15 to fm20 and there was too many new things to get my head around.

 United are usually very good on fm too. Do we have any stand out youngsters from the youth teams on it?

Yeah, Jones is in my u18s as I don't want him taking up space in the u23s. He's actually not bad but the injuries are too much.

Game hasn't changed at all, been ridiculously consistent all season, have 2 goals disallowed in the first leg so we only win 1-0, suddenly my players forget what sport they're playing and get tanked 4-0 in the return leg.

Training is annoying as well, I can count on one hand the amount of attribute improvements throughout the whole squad in 7 months.

But OleOUTers said everything would get solved with coaching and training?

It's a very different game, ME wise.

Signings 2021/2022:

Sancho - £60m
Haaland - £69m
Neymar - £79m

Nothing left to sign anyone else mind but not a bad front three!

No automatic scrolling when picking the team is killing me. Anyone else suffering that?

This site is offering it for £25.85, which seems like lowest price via a google search.
https://www.shopto.net/en/dwnld58827-football-manager-2021-p510778/

Will that work on a mac?
Will that offer me access to Beta and also get upgraded to proper launch version on 24th November?
How would I download it from here?

Yeah it will give access to the Beta. There is a Mac version too so should be fine. Not 100% on the m

They just send you a code which you redeem through Steam and yeah if you have the BETA installed then on the 24th you'll get an update which will be for the full game

Thanks - downloading now! Guess that's the rest of my weekend filled up now

Those Bayern stats are indeed weird. Aside from Davies having a 3rd division skillset, Alaba somehow being unable to mark or tackle, despite playing CB a lot and on the other hand Pavard being gifted with the stats of an elite CB the weirdest thing about the squad is that - with the exception of Lewandowski - all their players from last season have relatively mediocre first touches:

Lewandowski 18
Coman 14
Alaba 13
Kimmich 13
Goretzka 13
Müller 13
Gnabry 13
Boateng 13
Pavard 12
Hernandez 12
Neuer 11
Süle 10

Meanwhile the guy who does Dortmund seems to use a different scale:
Brandt 18
Dahoud 16
Guerreiro 16
Hazard 16
Sancho 16
Reinier 15
Witsel 15
Reyna 14
Hummels 14
Bellingham 14
Haaland 14
Reus 13

Started a 2 player game with the stepson I’m Leicester he’s Wolves!

First pre season just about done and I got a good deal on Dele Ali, 27m now with 20m in addons, great signing for Leicester. City away and Arsenal within the first 3 games.

Ndidi Maddison
Perez Dele Barnes
Vardy

Top 4 inc.
