Gaming Football Manager 2018

Bought it on steam this year as my cd drive has packed up. Haven't played any matches yet so can't judge it yet, however is it just me who doesn't like the new font at the very top? It's all in capitals and just look a bit messy.

EDIT: Oh and is there anyway I can turn off that god awful music they've bizarrely decided add to the opening?

You can go preferences, under the "FM" icon in the top right, and uncheck "play background music"

Have they fixed the silly amount of clicks needed for everything for the proper release?

Very nearly just gave in to buy this but held strong.

Started a new game. The interface makes me cringe. I much preferred it when the packed as much as they could on a screen without this huge spacing and buttons.

Seriously?

Soo. How is the game? Thinking about buying either the full version on pc or the ipad version. Anyone know which I should go for and when it's out for ipad?

For all of you guys who are wondering if you should buy the game, you can always pay 2-3 pounds for a shared account and try it out. Even 5-10 people from the caf can gather a few quid and make 1 shared account.

It’s basically what it always is. An updated football manager without anything groundbreaking added. Things like sports scientists and data analysts now actually do stuff.

Really? I played the demo quickly and thought it was hard to get my head around, maybe just me
It is to begin with but I quite like it now I'm used to it. The recommendation feature could get irritating for some.

Playing the demo so far, not as annoying as i thought when i first read from the reviews. Maybe it'll get to me later as i go on

Game fecked up in my season. In december and the league cup never got drawn, first round happened and for every other round the date for the draw keeps getting changed as it passes and doesnt take place. Weird.

Ibrahimovic is a beast. Came back late in december but scored 21 goals and 6 assists in 17 games. Still one more month to play. His pace is down to 7 but that isn't stopping him. Still haven't renewed him though.

I feel like the number of clear 1 on 1's that get scored is far too low. My players seem to shoot straight at the keeper 8 times out of 10, not realistic at all.

Away to Bournemouth, 2-1 up. 65th minute, de Gea injured - no goalkeeper on the bench.

Step up Eric Bailly. 30 minutes in goal and the mad bastard keeps a clean sheet

EDIT: Then I receive this crap:

Guess he really didn't want to fill in goal..

Have they fixed the player interactions at all? Rotational players demanding more minutes despite playing every other match and them generally being a bit simple etc.

Haven't played this since 03/04 (the final one before the name change). Great fun back in the early days - and totally unrealistic. I suspect it has become hugely advanced and time-consuming. How many hours do you guys usually spend to complete the first season?

what experience/background do you guys pick when managing utd?

also a Martial-Rashford partnership is better than any Lukaku partnership so far. No clue how to play him.

You have to choose the highest. If you start with anything lower you have to pretty much win every game or the players will have the knife in your back.

feck it all to hell! I’m getting this  Hope my Mac is still up for it..

I don't think I've ever played them together up top. Typically I go for a 4-2-3-1 with Lukaku as the lone striker (advanced forward), and he's got 24 goals in 32 games.

I see. I will try him as advanced forward, target man is not working. I played 3-4-1-2 in some away matches and they always link up well. Or 4-2-3-1 with Martial as inside forward and Rashford as advanced forward.

Has anyone tried retraining Martial or Rashford as a right winger? The game says that Rashford could be retrained there, but Martial looks like he could be just as good, or better. Debating with myself over which one to try there.

I go the mobile one last year which is a bit shit but have a shit laptop and the proper version doesn't run on it. Thinking of going for the touch one this year on my tablet which seems a happy medium.
