a redcafe team would definitely be pretty cool. how are we deciding on stats then? do we have a budget of like 150 stat points to give ourselves initially, or what?

That RedCafe team thing looks cool, but it's not exactly how I had planned it, though if the majority wants me to do something similar I can always give it a go.
What I did on the other forum, and planned to do here, was make us all as 15-16 year olds with 100 ability/200 potential ability, in random third level clubs in Spain, England and Italy. I'd let you customize based on a certain template, and though there's a lot of stats to be gained for the player still, they would generally develop in the way you set out (good passers would become even better passers, etc). Then I'd create an "experiment manager" and go on holiday.
After every year I'd write up a sort of summary for each individual player (and post a profile screenshot) (relatively short at first, since we're not likely up to much, but it turned quite long in the end), as well as keep track of some stats (for example, I'd always end the "summary" with that players average rating in club games that season). Eventually we'd be the best players in the world, basically.

Just won the Championship, that is both a great and frustrating division to manage in, as anyone can beat anyone, it's just so tight. To show the point, I lost the final game of the season, but still won the league as Leeds (2nd) and Sunderland (3rd) also lost.
And then the battle for the last play-off spot is tight as well, last season I just missed out, you'd win a a game and shoot up 3/4 places, but if you drew/lost a game, you'd hand those places right back. This season 6th to 10th were seperated by two points.
Not sure how I'll do in the Premier League, the team report isn't looking good, mostly 4* players, with a couple 3* and one 5*. Going to need every penny of the £13m transfer budget

If it goes well, there's not a too long stretch from the players you make for this and the players you can have if I do a "same club" idea. A few more and I'll start working further on how to do it this time. The idea would be that we start as youngsters (15-16) in random clubs at a certain level in either England, Spain or Italy (different clubs, that is). We'll all have 200 potential ability and somewhere around 100 current ability. Not sure what to do with 'favourite clubs' since we'd all just end up at United. Perhaps do one completely void of favourite or disliked clubs? We would, of course, run the risk of ending up at Liverpool or Manchester City..
I'll set some stats that are the same for all of us (stuff like ambition and professionalism, and maybe determination), and let you customize the rest to some degree or other (need to work out the details).

That's come out of nowhere, I had got Birmingham into the Premier League, and I'll be honest, I was really struggling with them, we were 19th and a fair amount of points from safety, injuries to Ben Foster and my best CB were crippling me.
And then out of the blue AC Milan sacked Frank Rijkaard and offered me the job, and they've been massively under-achieving, they've been spending huge money, did just sell Kaka, but then bought Cristiano Ronaldo.
Can't help but feel I've missed a step here, going from relegation strugglers to under-achieving (9th) AC Milan. But I'm not going to say no.

And now United have sacked Spalletti and I've got to say whether I am interesterd, that was ultimately the target to manage them, but I've not even played a match for AC Milan, so, United will have to wait a season or two
