FIFA launch probe into United's transfer dealings

Yeah, incredible that you become the most powerful football agent in the world after working as pizza chef.
Totally reminds me of...

41 Million for brokering a deal. That is shocking. Is there a better payday in the world? One deal and him and his offsprings are set for generations. Like winning the lottery.

I'm sure she does love Liverpool, but the point is we have no idea at all whether or not she'd entertain a move.

Also, why would the bolded bit happen? If he leaves this summer it'll be part of a transfer to another club which we would have to authorise. Unless we loan him out which is unlikely, why would we pay him off?

As she stated she won't leave her family, it gives a pretty good indication.

To get him off the books, as he has a contract, the club would need to pay him out the remainder. Or he stays as a squad player. He's in a very strong position. I do not see any club he'd be allowed to join, paying a fee for him, nor giving similar terms. So to release him, you need to settle the remainder of his contract.

Yeah if we were to release him we would, that goes without saying. I think he'll be bought by another club and we'll even receive a nominal transfer fee.

F1 drivers get paid so much because out of the entire world there are only about 25 of them able to do it and they are also putting their life on the line every time they go on the track - as opposed to a few hundred or so of top level footballers in the world. It's a different situation and I think F1 drivers can basically charge what they want.
Eeeh no. There are probably a few hundred up to 1000 drivers being able to race at the same level as Palmer, Eriksson or Stroll. If you'd give the opportunity to everybody (provide the tools to learn racing for free) there would be a lot lot more. Probably more then professional footballers. The raw talent you need to be a F1 driver is a fraction of the talent you need to become a footballer. The best tool to get into F1 (or really any racing series) is having a lot of money and "sponsoring" teams

Does anyone know if organisations are allowed to use third party information obtained illegally (assume Football Leaks hack into systems etc)? Also, are you allowed to profit from illegally obtained info? Just wondering as this is coming from a book made up of all hacked personal information (whatever we think of it). Can't see how data protection laws etc haven't been breached..

Ehhh... you are incredibly wrong.

Nah mate, rather stop talking about things you have no idea about...we have drivers in the current F1 field that are almost a second on average (qualy time!) slower then their teammates in the same car. Even in amateur classes that's deemed massive, and it shows a huge performance gap. Around the same gap you have between Ronaldo and a footballer of League 2. You don't need much natural talent for Formula 1, you need money (and some balls, but not nearly as much as it used to be)

We will just have to disagree on this I think - also it's wildly off topic

£2.8m in goal bonuses for Zlatan? So £100k per goal. No wonder he wasn't interested in sharing freekick duties.

I'm sceptical of some of the figures quoted. United have an overall salary policy so it seems weird to me that Zlatan's contract has bonuses that are close to the same size as the team bonus for the same thing. When Memphis' contract was leaked, the figures, though high, did match the general pattern of first team non-stars earning just under £4m in a non-CL season and £5.2m in a CL season, which we have seen in lots of newspaper articles.

Pogba's figures seem plausible.

When the financial results for the full year appear in September, it should be clearer whether Zlatan's salary was really that large.

So the difference of one second in F1 is directly comparable to the one of Ronaldo and a League 2 player?

Image rights mean that we earn from him image though. I bet he adds a lot to our marketing value.

We generally control the image rights of every player. If we are giving a part of it, that means we are giving a part of our earnings. It's justified in Pogba's case as he is a marketing boon. Still, it is the part of his yearly package, and I am sure a guaranteed percentage, which should be counted in the overall salary.

Thereabout yes. There are many drivers out there less then a second slower then F1 drivers, and they are on the edge of earning enough money with racing(aka being a "professional"). Quite comparable to a Ligue 2 player

These contracts are mental, just had a look at a few of them on their site. Understandable why so many of these deals take forever to complete....oddly from what I can gather, Depay agreed to a pay decrease after his first year on his....

I was legit bamboozled by Di Maria's transfer papers to Utd. It's mad. I'm not sure whether they are legit.....but an investigation would claim something about them is right, but they don't' look overly dodgy either, not like they are skyrocketing money everyone....some are relatively as expected, say for instance, Matas(@Chelsea) and a couple others. Straight forward.
