I don't think so. Whilst there may be a smaller pool of world class talent, in this draft any player you pick is a guaranteed established professional and in most cases plays for the national team. Much less risk of having an unknown player that drags your team down
Agreed. For example. I have Rio in my team. I won't be worried at all who I pick besides him. It will be an experienced player who has played in the CL and for his country. Heck, Titus Bramble would be good next to him.
I'm pretty confident my winning "Younger than Messi" team will be better than whoever wins this competition.

Even before we start taking players off each other every team will have a significantly stronger back 5 than the one in this team.
Arguably this also applies in midfield. Also half the players in this draft have already secured a forward as good as Hernandez.
This draft is slightly short of wingers so you may be stronger out wide but i'm sure the best wide players in this draft will be taken from loosing team so the winner will be significantly superior in all departments.
Goals win matches and there aren't many better at scoring from midfield than Frank Lampard

i wanted a player who could create magic - i was hoping for Giggs. So I am torn between a player who everyone loved watching but is now considered as past it or someone who won't really be remembered that much after his time. I do think that while he is no longer playing in Europe, he is doing just enough (now that he is getting picked again for his national team) to be picked ahead of the other player. And just then the thread about him is on the home page. Yeah I am going to take a risk and go for the most entertaining player of all time - Ronaldinho (again a World Cup winner)
