had you picked him i would have been happy to pick a forward much later in the draft. I don't see many of the remaining forwards as 2nd or in most cases even 3rd round picks
 
There's a few strikers at a similar level left and considering I will pick again soon, I think I'm going to take a risk and instead of going for a striker or defender which I need, I'm going for another midfielder.

Michael Essien



I know he's had injuries and all that but he's still a quality player. Xavi and Essien in my midfield.. that will be my strong point. Willing to risk not choosing a defender or striker yet for it.
 
Adebayor and Gerrard for me,

Good strikers and Midfielders running thin.
 
we need to keep the Op updated cause keeping track of all the drafts is difficult especially if no picture is used.

He should be way down the list based on form of past couple of years! But he is still living off past glories so probably still a vote winner

I'm surprised that the full backs have been picked so early. I get that there are only a hand full of world class fbs but from my football experience there are far more important positions on the pitch.

In fact the only fb i would have considered picking so early is alves. Unlike the other world class fbs he actually has the ability to significantly influence the game at both ends of the pitch. The others are great all round players but 1st/2nd round picks?? im not so sure

The only way/reason I would take Lahm over Alves, is due to Lahm's versatility, it helps when he can play on either flanks, so all Jaap needs to do now is find the best remaining full-back (left or right doesnt matter, due to Lahm's versatility).

Plus, I didn't expect him to go in the first round.

And I just realized FortBoyand got robbed, his turn shouldn't have been skipped since he was to make the first pick, the 12 hour rule should have kicked in whenever he made his pick.
 
The 12 hour rule kicked in when the game started. KM declared it to start at 18:39 on Oct. 6th. 20 hours later the first draft was made. He himself showed up more than 24 hrs after the game had started.
 
Most of the out and out strikers are gone so I pick Cassano , not an out and out striker but i can either use him off the striker, wide or as a false 9. Hopefully later there will be room to pick a striker, if not i'll just build a different system.

Maybe but I'd still rather have him than some of the other picks. He played over 40 games last season, not at his best but still a quality player.
