I was back and forth on it as well but the importance of a defensive midfielder cant be understated.

i wouldve had any of the strikers who have been picked already ahead of him (etoo, villa, van persie, forlan, drogba, zlatan and even torres) but after this lot there is quite a gap in quality to the next rung on the strikers ladder so I had to bite the bullet and go for Carlos The cnut

there is one forward who i believe is just as good or maybe just slightly below the level of those forwards. I'm hoping he is still available by the time i get to make my pick

I was debating between tevez zlatan and van persie
Tevez is a cnut and might not even play for a while and after finding zlatans goal scoring stats to be underwhelming I decided to go with rvp

On another note, there is no pain like the pain of thinking of a footballer, and then finding out they were born just a few days after the cut-off point. :(

Players really can't get injured in a hypothetical tournament
If it was a player like hargreaves who has barely played for three years then injury recoreds could come into play

hmm Interesting, i still have 17 unpicked strikers on my list. Some very good forwards in there but world class? im not so sure. id be very surpised if it was someone that was not on my list
