Football Boots

Have gone old school recently in the desire to find a boot which just fits perfectly and lets you be light on your feet, especially as a midfielder/wideplayer. Following have been great on astro's, but have T90's for grass which I'm not a massive fan of.. not good for quick footwork. Still sometimes sneakily wear old Beckham preds, even though they're blatantly a size too small.

The only Nike boots I'll wear are Tiempo's (found a beaut of a pair six months ago for 65 quid) all the rest just leave my feet blistered. Adidas have always been good to me got a pair of F30's a few years ago and they are brilliant and I still use them even though like Raess they are a size too small!

Got a pair of Pred's as well a while back and they are perfect, don't know why I put off getting a pair for years.

I bought a pair of World Cups a few weeks back as we had a lot of rain and I reckoned the Copas wouldn't have enough grip.

Amazing boots, very fast. But freaking expensive in Canada.

the problem i have with those is they are a little narrower last than copas and they soak up water like a sponge making them very heavy as matches/training drags on in heavy rain or very soggy pitches.

I like classic boots as well, one modern thing also that i can't do without anymore is the plastic/tpu bit they put on the heel for stability. it makes the world of difference to me and i can't go back to boots that don't have them. I don't feel as 'locked in' anymore with boots without the plastic cup bit at the back..

If anyone can find me either of these in AG I'd be pleased....
And yes I know they're poncey

Never worn AG but presume they'd be best for 3G as opposed to regular astro trainers?

I'm really struggling with Adidas boots of this generation.. the heel just seems too slippery for me, gone to store upon store to no avail and old school predators used to be my fave. and total 90's too heavy So I've invested in some white Umbro's and black Tiempo Rio's.. the latter is the most softed interior I've ever worn and alot of padding for control - would recommend.

Have you worn adiPURE, Raees? Classy, very comfortable boot.

Yep tried em all mate... F50's, Adipure, new Preds, I just think I have a funny shaped heel... everyone else has no problem and tbh I've never had problem with adidas either in the past, nor nike for that matter. Its just the modern heels are very thin, perhaps the inside of the boot is padded to high and it doesn't feel supported, like whenever i'm about to run its about to come off my foot from the back.

I need some new boots as my current pair (CTR 360's) are starting to split. Never tried Adidas before but thinking about going for the new predators, probably for the black/neon orange colour unless some of the others come down in price.

Have to buy new pair and may well stick to those. Best in terms of passing and volleying I've ever worn.

Nearly went for a pair of them, the lower ones though. Would never spend £260 on boots, ridiculous price.

Edit: The tiempo's.

Have you tried spray glue Raees?

I've been looking for new boots last day or two, and I am seriously struggling!

I don't want white boots since they get all scuffed and wrecked too fast, and I'm not a big fan of black boots either usually. I'd love to be able to get a classic pair of boots - an older style Predator, or Vapor IIIs in red or silver, however I don't know where to find those apart from eBay.

Anyone know a good place to find fairly cheap, good boots?

Amazon or prodirectsoccer.com?

Meanwhile, adidas have launched their new Nitrocharge boots, which looks great in black, not so in blue and yellow, IMO.

Do you like sturdy boots or lightweight boots?

Artificial turf. Adidas Mundial. Not PC but Kangaroo leather has been my favorite material for boots, never come across any others that fit or hold up as well

Natural turf. Adidas Predator Pulse TRX FG. Oldie but a goodie, I bought a 2nd pair several years back for when my 1st pair finally wear out. Kangaroo leather as well.

No need to worry about Kangaroo leather, they're in no way endangered, and half the time are considered vermin and a nuisance by our local farmers.

They banned them in California, actually. I had some trouble getting them when I still lived there
