Football Betting Thread 2017/2018

Carlos Manucci v Union Hurral in Peru at 21:30. No market on BTTS just yet (with Bet365 anyway), over 2.5 goals is 4/5 though. I'd expect it to open in-play at around 4/7. Last seven home games for Manucci have seen both teams score. Hurral score more often that not away from home, and did so in their last game against the league leaders. BTTS has landed in the last six games between these two sides, and the last three games have seen five goals each time. I'll almost certainly be backing BTTS in-play, provided no side is missing a key goalscorer once team news is in. In the other games I'll be looking at BTTS at the La Bocaba game and Sport Victoria over 1.5 team goals.

Nice spot with the Peru stats. The early penalty looked like it might become a no bet but around 35 minutes 1.80 became available so I decided to follow. In before half time. Cheers.

Something is wrong. Nigeria is 3/1 to beat Cameroon away from home. Didn't they just beat Cameroon a few days ago 4-0?

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think it's been fixed now though, both bet365 and betfair are now only 17/10.

cnuts! Still a good enough price at 2.70, worth a shot when team news comes out.

Edit: Also, Nigeria win or draw is 1.50 so if you want to play it safe, that's good odds as well.

Glad you got on, I did the same as you, didn't have a chance to get on before the penalty but backed it at 5/6 near the end of the first half. It's probably my best league to bet on to be honest, especially to back BTTS.

Over 2.5 goals is 5/4, that looks a nice price. The last 5 meetings between these two have always resulted in 3 or more goals so looks safe enough.

Hungary U19s in play, maybe half time result, doesn't look too bad at the moment. 2.4 to win on bet365 but still 3.2 on bwin.

England u20's @ 10/11 is tempting. In the last 12 games they've won 10 and drew 2.

This sort of reasoning is very flawed. It's far too simple to just look at some past results and decide on a bet. If you look hard enough you could find all sorts of patterns that have happened but it doesn't mean they are good bets on this game.

I also heeded this advice and took this bet on...

Took the £35 I won from my acca and popped it all on this, to come away with £51.66...

Then ignore it ;)

Think I've gone for:
Under 9.5 corners in eng/Slovenia
Scotland -6.0 corners
Over 4.0 cards in the northern Ireland game
Pliskova/brady under 19.5 games (already a winner)

Had a treble of Germany to score in both halves (4/7 by the way, fantastic price I thought), England to score in the 2nd half, and England RT 9 corners. England had 8 corners at HT and Sterling just won one in the last minute to win my bet. I was about to post on here fuming about it when he got it :p

Germany, Scotland, Poland, England and Denmark to win came through. First 5 team acca of the season believe it or not. I guess like Harry Kane, I'm shite in September.

Had £20 on Slovenia, England, Netherlands under 19s and Nigeria double chance paid £84.45.

Put £50 on England when they went 1-0 down at 2.20.

Seems like it was a good day for most. Went for home wins in the 7 1945 kick-offs @19.36. £5 returned £96.

I'm happy to ignore it (and also not get into an argument) but just trying to help you and others.
Haha fair enough mate, well done on this occasion! I do kind of agree that the stats effectively mean nothing however you've got to have something to base it on. If the last 5 games had ended 0-0 you wouldn't suddenly think they were going to have a 7 goal thriller would you?

If the 5 0-0s were, say, 10 years ago, and the last 3 games that both sides had played in the last 6 months were all goalfests, and the sides were managed by Roberto Martinez and Jurgen Klopp, with Arsene Wenger as defensive coach (for both sides) then I might!

Wales will win against Moldova? Don't know if this bet or Spain (0:3) Handicap or Netherlands U21 X2.

93rd minute equaliser for Syria against Iran. That's my little winning run come to an abrupt end.

Some good odds in the African matches..

Morocco 11/10
Senegal 6/4
Algeria 13/20
Also Uruguay are 17/10
Usa 13/10

Interesting development

Gabon lead the ivory coast 2-0 but have a man sent off.

Ivory coast to win is 3.25, to draw is 3.75 Gabon to win is 2.00

Not many goals to shout about so far. Looks like another crazy night is on the cards. Italy & Wales should be up by now. Had them to win 3-0.

Second good day in a row. Spain, Italy, Wales, DRC or draw and Egypt or draw acca came in. DRC made me sweat at the end there. Also had Asian handicaps +2 for Israel and +2 for Moldova so I made money there as well.

What was your reasoning for this? They were 0/1 with some bookmakers, I'm guessing others probably offered about 1/100. Mental.

Alls well that ends well? I always do 5 game accas. I had Australia in another one and didnt like the look of any of the other games. Usually I would have done Spain -4 or -5 but after what happened with France, I was a bit chicken. I know my reasoning is shite but there you have it.

You'd have gotten basically the same return without them though. They'll win that game 999 times out of 1000 but it's really not worth including IMO. Nevertheless, congrats on your win :)

Not from my own research but two tipsters who I know to be pretty good have both tipped goals at Queen's Park U20 v Clyde U20. Kicks off at 19:45, will keep an eye on Over 1.5 FHG, Over 3.5 goals and something like Queen's Park over 2.5 goals/-2 Asian Handicap. Also Bodo/Glimt v Sadnes Ulf at 18:00 should see at least three goals, again mainly from the home side.

First went well

Stats looked very good for it but always have to be careful backing goals when first play second, thankfully Bodo's twitter account tweeted that the game was quiet so I didn't bet heavy. No luck in Queen's Park either, was about to bet on them to be winning at HT/FT when they went and scored.

I went for under 3.5 goals in that second game at over evens, guess it came in as my account is up.
