No idea. My guess would be he would be played in whatever position he was the best at. If you have a better RB, he will play LB and vice versa, but I don't know for sure.

I nearly won the PL with Wolves a few years ago with a target man and two out and out wingers. Then I had a 6 point lead before my last 4 games against United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke.

When I was in college I used to do the Conference to PL challenge and stuff like that. Good wingers and a CF were the difference makers. Not enough quality to play anything else really.

Farnborough Town and Yeovil were my teams. Good times. Then had less time so used to do Wolves/Charlton/Leeds. Now I'm lucky to do a united season and only buy FM like 1 year late when it's on sale

Just to expand on this from earlier. A few reasons really. First, Trapattoni and Cruyff were the standouts remaining in the manager pool at that point. @antohan followed me in the snake and the last thing I/we wanted was to get caught in a collision course with him every turn - jostling for the same players and dicking each other over for 20 rounds. Leaving Cruyff (and he was never going to turn him down) ensured two opposing tactical philosophies that would see us going for entirely different players. Second, coming 15th in an all-time snake means you miss out on the super GOAT attackers, but it does tend to leave you first dibs on the best midfielders or defenders. Building a team around that strength fitted with what Trap was all about. Third, it paved a path to his former player Matthaus, who as well as being the top CM, represented all the values Trap had through his box-to-box game. And fourth, through his expansive managerial career, he had a shedload of elite ex-players to tap into, just to add a bit more flavour to the usual drafting process.

Exactly why I wanted Trap. Seriously considered Herrera, but yeah, it would be a long draft

So yeah, went with the excitement of Cruyff (despite agreeing with what you say, 14th isn't the position to try a Cruyff team).

And then I found he didn't even play to the tactics that excited me

It' s been grating me from the off. I suspected they modelled Cruyff on Pep when I wouldn't have picked Pep in a million years.

Get it for a tenner every year (about 6 months to a year late) and it's worth it every time.

Just for the record that are definitely a few managers that use out and out wingers and I have seen some saves where Gento is the POM in the CL final.

Of course I've now seen about 30 different PoM in CL finals but point is no one should think a player who slipped to R12 is somehow underrated in game solely because they slipped to R12.

Actually I am pretty sure 424 is very popular with players and should work fine in FM, although its clearly a very attacking formation
