I really hope they change the way they've done ranked games for 2011. It's feckin' shit in World Cup. I've never noticed before because i've previously just played online World Cup but now the ranked games are in league and you have cups too.
Because my next match is in a cup it means I have to play someone in the same cup at the same stage. I've been 15mins trying to find a game.
Just go back to regular online ranked games please EA.

It will only have been a bit of 'fun' for the world cup edition.
I must say, if Fifa 11 doesn't use this game engine then they're fecking bonkers. Probably one of the best football games of all time. Granted its just the world cup, but it's just completely different to anything i've ever played. Players feel so much lighter compared to previous Fifa's they move where you want them to and they kick the ball properly instead of those wonder side footers that always find the net.

I won the WC with Japan today. Keisuke Honda was my best player in qualifying but then he got injured in the actual tournament and missed it all. Still won it with Shunsuke Nakamura and Kenga Nakamura being my best players.
I just won the world cup online. Now I'm not usually an achievement whore, but am I right in thinking there is no fecking achievement for winning it!?

If you look, I actually won the ball early on with a beautifully timed slide tackle in the midfield... it was just luck it ran to one of his players to allow the move to progress.
Also, he bottled trying the first-time volley, which would have made it a decent goal to be fair.
Actually the defender marking the eventual scorer, certainly the Portuguese right-back, made a very unlikely run towards van Persie and then Robben in the center, letting Kuyt (?) loose to score.
This is the pickle you get for playing unrealistic games : when will a right-back ever cut inside in a defensive phase?
Just got to the final and lost with South Africa on the online mode. fecking brilliant mode and great game. I'd almost go as far to say this is the best FIFA ever. There literally are two flaws I can think of with this game; switching to centre backs and not being able to do multi-player online WC mode. Both are minimal issues.

I've had Fifa for the last 2 years and it's been easily the superior game. I miss PES though.
I do get a bit frustrated with FIFA though. All the goals are the same.
I'm a PES man myself so will probably find myself getting a copy of PES11 rather than FIFA which I haven't played since the early days. I probably should try it again to see what its like, but all I can remember is long balls and unstoppable 40 yarders.
There are still far too many unbelieveable long range goals to be honest. It's come along way though.

Definitely try FIFA. Might even be worth picking up a copy of WC as I imagine it would be pretty cheap now. I can't believe people are still playing PES. I too used to be a PES man, but the last 3 years have been embarrassing.
I discovered Fifa once again yesterday. Just turn on manual passing, shooting and crossing, and try to win WC on legendary against Com.
If anyone is fed up with Fifa , they should try it. I thought im a very very good player, and i was literally pissing on almost anyone online, but now i discovered new dimmension- the manual one. Its amazing how difficult a simple through pass can be , pulling it off rightly gives so much joy.. Shame no one plays manual control online though.. Id like to test my skills in this mode.
I just created the Champions League on FIFA10 with all the correct groups and rulings, updated transfers such at Zlatan to Milan and Mascherano to Barca. Put all settings to manual, ALL of them. I shall soon start my biggest challenge on FIFA10, Legendary level of course and game speed set to slow. This will be interesting
You can set it so that it finds you someone else wanting to play manual also.
It's much easier to score long range goals in PES than it is in FIFA...Unless you're playing FIFA 95 or something.
