Here's my team at the moment:

Boruc

Mendy - Demicheles - Santacrosso - Zebina

Maxi Rodriguez - Karagounis - Guarente - Ribery

Santa Cruz - Luis Fabiano


Not bad, but not much pace up top. Might try Searls idea and stick Ribery there!

I'm also managed by Wenger, is Ferguson available on it?
 
Had a problem last night where my coins earned weren't registering. I played about 3 games and still had the same amount of coins. It was annoying, because i was only a few hundred off another gold pack!

how have you guys got around the lack of contracts?!

i had a 3 star team and they all fecked off cos i had no contracts!!

And the amount of last minute goals i concede is shocking.

but anyway, lets add each other so we can trade properly without being extortionate. Can we do that?

I'm not sure, i got lucky with my packs in that i get about 4 contracts and 2 players a pack. Took me forever to get the team i got! Also Wenger adds 3 more matches per contract which is useful.

My mate had this problem last night. I keep getting booted from the EA servers. It's really pissing me off now.

On a 21 win streak on this at the mo. All the really good people must be playing UT now because the highest ranked i'm coming up against are around the 2000 mark.

Diaby is a beast in this game, all my corners just go to him and he always gets his loaf on it.
 
Juninho and Diarra now in centre mid for me, doing a fine job too. Played a guy with 97 attack, 93 midfield and 91 defence and made him quit!

Went one nil up with Maxi inside 10 minutes, and then was through on goal again just after and it just froze and said connection lost. Checked the guys gamercard and it seems he turned his xbox off. Diddums.
 
I have Iniesta and Xavi but I cannot get them to work in midfield, I have to pair one of them with Diaby for it to work. Diaby's strength and height really help to win the ball back in that area.

Haven't got a decent player in a gold pack for a while yet, I have 7,000 points so I think I'll reach 10,000 and buy 2. The money from selling the shit players and cards should then fund a third pack so hopefully I'll get a new player worth keeping in one of them.

yes this was demonstrated by people having 5 star teams in a couple of hours after release. Probably spent about 50 quid or so on gold packs

What's the best way of playing a midfield featuring Xavi, Iniesta and Lampard? Or is that too unbalanced?
 
Hmmmm I might be on in a few mins to play FIFA. (on the 360 that is)..

Not a big fan of this ultimate team plus my brother's account so won't be able to play with his team or fidget around..but if anyone wants to add me just add fer0ze17 which is the gamer tag. Just say you're from Redcafe though for me to make sure who you are....lol

Stopped playing with United as it's not really that much fun..

If i'm playing with a club, than usually I select Reading for the sake of it, regardless of the opposition..

and if I'm playing Internationals, I stick with either Turkey, Croatia, Mexico or Australia which is really fun playing against the big 5 star national teams...

Forlan and Martins have a great partnership, they compliment each other well. Lampard gets forward well in that formation and Cole and Richards and great overlapping fullbacks.
 
I guess the part of the reason I can't stand playing Ultimate Team is the fact that I can't stand playing with rival players and the likes of Gerrard, Cole, Fabregas, Robinho etc..

I wish I could play, seems like my disc bit the dust, stupid thing comes up unreadable everytime I put er in.

I swear some of the people who play this are on crack. The sprint button is a button for a reason, if they wanted you to sprint permanently it wouldn't be included.

I know people want to win but it bugs me when people chase you non stop no matter where you are, with the same player, just sprinting after you all game. Also people that have their defenders right up your arse as soon as you get the ball should die.

Lol..but that's a strategy mate and you've got to try and counter that somehow..lol

Same with the defenders quick pressure and closing down as soon as you get the ball...

Yeah usually I can counter it but Martins is an absolutely awful passer. So when the ball is played up to him and I try and dink it over for Forlan it always goes too heavy or too short.
 
i just got my first gold pack, koumas, diop and gardner :(

but diop and gardner can actually just run straight through most people, they have to be the best players at strength. Koumas is pretty handy too.

Waiting for a rooney or an evra. God i want to get the evra card!

You can go through so many gold packs without getting a superstar, which I suppose is good. I thought a gold pack meant you'd get Torres, Messi, Rooney, etc... all the time, but them being rare makes it feel beter when you actually get a good one.

Best players I've got from Gold packs have been Lampard and Iniesta.

I got Luis Garcia in a gold pack and was so happy, as he linked up with David Villa to make a decent strike partnership. Not had a single United player yet, majority of my players are either italian or spanish or play for one of the two's nations leagues.

just need contract cards!!!
 
You can buy contract cards really easily, you just have to scroll to around page 120 / 130 until you get ones that are running out in a few minutes time. Also, noticed people have started putting silver cards up for 200 buyout.
 
I've only had one United player and that was Ji Sung Park
 
Do none of you try and stick to the same nationality? I've got an all English team that's almost entirely suited to 442 and they play superbly together. No stars at all, I think my best player is Chris Kirkland... Think the chemistry rating is mid 90's and it really makes a difference to how they play.
 
How much to the types of cards sell for? I haven't got a clue when putting them up for trade.
 
Is it me or has everyone online become a defensive god? Some people I've played have stupidly good positioning, like if I'm counter-attacking and out numbering them, they will be in exactly the right position to cover depending on where I pass, and they are like this every time. I mean I can do it but it's hard sometimes with the AI going "Hey why don't you control this guy?" "This guy over here who is nowhere near the play looks good to control" :lol::mad:

Kind of know what you mean there, however that's where the right analog stick comes into play to choose which player you'd want to control..
