Well that sucks, how can they leave something like that out? I guess it has something to do with stopping people editing rosters but that can easily be worked around, hopefully a patch to include custom online formation will be released.

Yeah the speed does pick up after a while, I in fact play in the dynamic view as I find the gameplay to be smoother, however the game does have quite a few niggles, it’s certainly the better of 2 but really its nothing to be proud of as neither are fantastic games.

Totally a agree.

I'm a Pro Evo man myself, but this year Fifa produced an AMAZING game.

Pro Evo 2008 was a big let down, i bought a PS3 just for that game, i was gutted how shit it was, but thankfully EA stepped up and put out a great FIFA game FOR ONCE.

No PES fan can say Pro 08 is more realistic, thats absolute bollox. FIFA 08 is as realistic you can get to real football. If you want to play football double or triple the speed, then buy PES 2008. Its like an arcade game.

PES 1,2,3,4,5,6 >>>>>> FIFA 2000, 01,02,03,04,05,06,07

FIFA 08 >>>>>>>>> PES 2008

It means that if you consider a player running the full length of the field in about 4 seconds to be realistic then i'd say that you're more loopy than i had already imagined.

Indirect type of FK. Ive seen it in a few vids on YouTube, just wondered how it was done?
 
Not sure to be honest. Best reading the manual :p

The only free kicks im any good at are the blasting it at goal ones, where on the PS3 you hold L1, the angle of spin and circle for power!

I'm still flabbergasted in how people can still suggest PES is better then Fifa in terms of gameplay. And why you're disappointed by Next Gen football games I'm not to sure of either, what was you expecting?

I completely agree, FIFA even a few years ago lagged behind, this new FIFA takes the cake an absolutely great game imo
 
ProEvo has it faults, but the latest Fifa is the biggest pile of shit I have ever had the displessure to come across. Fifa is for infantils who want looks over substance. The game play is abominal. It still feels totally unrealistic. Terrible. Boooooooooooooooo.

Exactly, doesn't take a genius to work that out, FIFA is better than PES this year, fact.

I used to enjoy playing Pro Evo too and have sometimes bought both games, but I've played the new pro a couple of times to give it a chance and it really isnt great. FIFA has come a long way whereas I havent seen much change in Pro for the past few years.

Their effort to bring reality to the game was failed terribly.

It's because FIFA series has big reputation among the football sims.

By the way the animations in pro, especially the player run is awful.

PC = Current Gen
PS3 & 360 = Next Gen

Both completely different games.

Fifa 08 is the most realistic football game ever released. Any real football fan can see that. Unless you like to play football double or even triple the speed on PES 2008 :lol:

You know, there's a case for saying "Pro Evo 6 is better than Fifa 2008."

It's not a very good case, considering this year's Fifa is better and Pro Evo 6 is well out of date. But there's a case none the less.

Pro Evo 7 (PES 2008) isn't half the game Pro Evo 6 is. Literally. It's like they took that game, updated the squads, sucked 50% out of it and then dropped it on the floor a couple of hundred times bizarely speeding the game up so fast that The Flash looks slow.

Since the release Konami have come out and admitted that this year's PES was NOT the game they wanted to release. It was poor And it was down to production dates and creating a game for multiple systems. The main point is, they appreciate it wasn't a good effort.

So anyone who really thinks it was, must be seven shades of stupid.
 
'99 was great too. Since that game Fifa went downhill imo. They've gained top spot with 08 though :D

Not anymore. It had a great reputation, then PES came along and showed E.A how to do it. For a number of years PES was far superior, though the common footballing game fan only seemed to realise it in the last 2 years.

Then came Next-Gen consoles.

E.A were forced to put more effort into it and they've come up with a great game. I was lucky enough to be working at E.A when they came out with the first next-gen version. When I played it half the textures were missing, but it was good fun none the less. Still it needed some improvements.

That came with this year's version.

I know. They are completely different. And in many reviews I've read are about the PC version, which is a total feck up from EA. Within two months after buying Fifa 08 I stopped playing. it's shit.

I've never played FIFA 08 Next Gen. I can't get my parents to buy one for me. In their eyes, these things like video games are for kids and these ruin children. None except rich or extremely passionate buy consoles here in India.

On sidenote : I'm going to post a thread in general about how middle class parents in India usually think about youngster's passion towards computers, consoles, gaming etc...
 
Don't want to start another thread so just bumped this tread, anyways just played Fifa demo and the control is hard is it easier when you play the full game?? I just download PES08 and Fifa08 demo and at the moment prefer PES08, sooo does Fifa08 game play is better in the full game as in demo it ain't all that and control is hard adjust to.
 
Played the demo version and i cant get grips with controls not the circle for shoot or anything just how its played, and the how do you make the player use the pace?
