On the last post I made guys heres a quick guide to why I think everyone should do Rui Costa, and how I'm getting prime Rivaldo. All you need is a decently stocked club with 82's and stuff and not alot else.
Provided you have a lot of 82's and junk knocking round your club. If you have you can pretty much do the first 4 SBC's for feck all (say 50k) so even with prices as inflated as they are now you can do Rui for 690k. Given you'll like have at least 10% of the more expensive players too so you are taking 620k-ish to get him completed maximum. For you 620k you are getting back 367.5k worth of player packs with 62 rare gold players and alot of non rare, you are bound to make at least 150k back off that even with horrid pack luck.
So after all is said and done you are getting Prime Rui Costa for approx 470k at worst. You can stop here if you wanna play with him or intend to use him for an endgame Icon but me I'm upgrading to Rivaldo and then will dump Rivaldo for an endgame Icon because...
I'm dumping Rui Costa into Rivaldo and thats cutting Rivaldo's total price from 930k to 300k approx.
Now again we can probably write off the bronze, silver and first gold and 83 rated SBC's and only have to pay out for 3 informs 40k.
We are now at total cost of 510k, max.
To do the higher rated squad you are looking at 215k max (if you have nothing round your club.)
So we now have Prime Rivaldo for 725k total outlay at worst plus we still have 312.5k of packs, with approx 65 rare gold players coming in. So again even if we do terrible we'll still take in 100k.
Prime Rivaldo for at most 650k coins, more than likely at least 100k cheaper. Lets say somewhere from 600 to 650k coins for a 1.1m valued card. If you wait till Monday to get it done, it will probably be cheaper.
All in all your are spending about 1m but getting back 700k worth of packs, you're bound to hit something.

Nope, I got Sommer (86) and some 81 rated guy I can't remember from my red picks.
Yeah, finished div 1 tier 5 so it was from a pack with 12 gold players with 3 rare. Unbelievable really.

Yeah it’s incredible. Funnily enough I was on a video chat with a few friends so they got to see it live. Too bad it wasn’t recorded. It was the last of my packs too, so I just opened it in a hurry since it was a shitty pack and I had no hopes of anything. I got Matic in it too, even that would be a very good pull from such a poor pack.
My pack luck before this has been woeful so it’s about time I got something better than Nainggolan which was my most valuable tradable pack pull until today. An icon was beyond my wildest dreams.
I think I’ll keep him for now. Tried him out for one game, or actually 10-15 fifa-minutes. He scored twice and my opponent rage quit. It’s strange how icons perform way better than what their stats suggest.
By the way, I have a feeling that pack luck increased when you open packs in the companion app. All of my great pack pulls (TOTS Walker and 90 Del Piero from FIFA 18 and now Butragueno) was in the app.
Mines the opposite, opened more than half of my weekend league and rivals rewards on my phone and packed next to nothing.

This was why I did the Campbell SBC. Probably cost me 500k to do due to all the untradeables in my club, although I didn't get anything worthwhile from the packs.
I'm gonna use him for a while and see how he is. Don't think I'll bother with Rivaldo though, used his baby and middle earlier in the game and was disappointed with them. I'll wait for later icon SBCs to come out and use Campbell in one of those I reckon.
How does everybody got all their coins and high rated players? I've just started playing div rivals but my team is 83 rated and ive got about 150k in the bank. Realistically, how do you transform that into a good team, because I'm coming up against teams packed with amazing players?
Luckily I'm in div 5 at the moment so I'm holding my own fine, but i think if i could get a better team I'd cruise through the divisions.
Also the scripting/momentum is horrible. At the moment I'm getting a half of normal play each game. Sometimes i start the day in bad form for a couple of games for some reason, even if i won my last games. I never rage quit either. Really frustrating.

Threw Fifa to the side for quite a while but played a few games the other night. My mate was telling me timed finesse shots are a joke and I should be abusing them. Can someone confirm? I currently have it turned off
Yeah can definitely confirm that. Though at the top level people move their keepers to stop finesse shots, so in those games near post shots will be effective.
Keep playing rivals and maybe weekend league so you’ll get packs, and hope good pack luck. Or you could spend on fifa points when good promo packs are released.
Trading has been massive for me this year. I make small amounts but often, probably make aboit 20k a day from trading when I can actually be bothered

Game feels sketchy as feck today. Managed to get the win in my first game in extra time after hitting the bar 6 times in normal time and scoring a 90th minute equaliser
I've got Campbell too and I like him but I'll eventually upgrade him. Only issue I have with him is he never goes in the box for corners and when defending corners for some reason he's always standing outside the box marking someone who doesn't need marking, while my tiny winger is left marking the big men. If I play anyone else in his position it doesn't happen.
Got 4 Icons now Rio, Campbell, Hagi and Vieri plus I'll have Costa in a couple of days, I might hold off on Rivaldo given he gets alot of bad reviews. Campbell, Hagi, Vieri and Costa will all be used for better/end game icons. I might hold on to Costa and dump Hagi (his stam is really annoying as I play him as my attacking CM in 4-14-1) for Crespo who is the next Icon SBC according to reddit. According to reviews he's one of the best strikers in game.
For me I have zero lag and the game feels great, best WL of the year gameplay wise but I have magnetic posts too. Have a 5-1 record so far, 2 wins on peno's where I dominated both games and had 5 or so post and crossbars. 1 90th minute win again with a post or two in there. The other win was 6 or 7-2 where the guy scored from kickoff twice and I wiped the floor with him anyway.
My one loss was acceptable to be honest, guy had IF Salah, IF Mbappe, IF Kante, Prime Keane, Prime Campbell and Middle Blanc, I could barely create a chance but had 60% of the ball (my lowest possession stat of the 6 games).
I think the key to the new patch is to only play home games, if you make sure you're at home the game plays really nice post patch (well, at least it does for me)
Hmm I'll have to try that out now. Took a break after winning my 2nd game as I felt my luck was going to run out and the posts were going to cost me eventually.
So far I'm not seeing too much difference between prime Keane and TOGS Kroos.
Struggling to not pull the trigger on Rui Costa though. Realised I've got Kroos, Oblak, Peresic, SBC Lucas, Halloween Koke that I could throw into the 87 SBC and not be far away from completing it. The rest of it should be much cheaper then

So much for hoping the latest patch would fix the input lag. The matches I payed today were up there with the most broken and slow sluggish game play matches I have played all year.
Can someone that finishes decent in WL share there custom tactics please. Mine seem to be broken with this latest patch
Cheers, I'll keep plodding along and see where i get. I've qualified for WL but not bothered yet as i have no time.
On a side note, been really struggling on it lat two days. My players have gone cumbersome and keep doing poor first touches. Almost feels like I've knackered my pad and one of the buttons is stuck down. Can't play quick football at all and getting battered by shit players left,right and centre.
Oh that's probably the issue for me. The gameplay feels terrible since i played last night. Almost considering waking away because it's just getting on my nerves.
Not great but decent for me 9-3 record.
I play drop back, 2 width, 5 depth in defence. 6 width, 3 players in the box and possession in attack.
Changing formations helps me alot. I have 5 set up (3421 I use vs 4321 formation or 433, 4141 I use versus any formation where I'm facing a CAM so 4231 or 41212, 4231 I use vs 4222 and 41212 I used the same as 4141) Basically I have to have a central DM to match the CAM, and against 2 CAM I need two DM's.)
Seems to have turned around a bit, now I'm 7-4 but won't get any more in today cause I'm out for the football and boxing

Sick of complaining about it but the game is so broken. Today has been utter shite slow motion button lag game play. You press pass and it wont pass for a whole second and when it does eventually pass, the ball rolls along the floor like 5 times slower than it needs to be. I had high hopes that the patch was going to fix it but its been even worse since. Its totally unplayable and broken and I can't understand at all why its like this.
The new patch is getting really varied results, for me its been amazing. Game has played like a dream last two days. Where are you in relation to the servers, I'm in Ireland and mostly on German servers I think and gameplay is great.
Played offline against my mate before and the difference is a joke!
I'm in Cardiff, the first few days after the patch it felt great for me too. I was over the moon as I thought the button lag had finally gone. Glad you are a having a better time of things
It's so annoying how it can't be the same with online play or at least for it to be playable would be some kind of acceptable compromise.
Started 8-1 and currently am 15-3 some absolute wild games this weekend. 3 losses were 3-2, 2-1 and a penalty shootout loss. Josef Martinez has saved me a few times but the star player this weekend league is Andre Silva this guy is banging them In left right and center! Hopefully I can carry on and get gold 1.

I traded this in within a week of buying it. EA have done literally nothing for those of us that aren’t interested in playing online.

Yes the hero card. Arguably the best super sub in the game I reckon yet I see no one using him!
I randomly got him from a pack, took a quick look at his stats and decided to keep him.
I've currently got Aubameyang, Peresic and him as my subs so I'm not quite sure about best super sub
