Yeah he’s surprisingly good. Dembele is also an excellent alternative, he really lives up to his stats in game.
I’ve completely imploded. I’ve been relegated from Division 3 to Division 5 in rivals. I can’t buy a win. What has happened to me? I’m getting dealt with by the most average players and I can’t score goals anymore. Even if my team is much better than the opposition, I still can’t win. They handle me win consummate ease. I won a draft earlier and battered everybody but Rivals has totally and utterly broken me.

Interesting that you think that, I have both of them and I prefer Fernandinho. Much better at getting about the pitch, intercepting and tackling. I guess it depends on style of play though.

Already started switching across myself. Played 3 games of the weekend league and had an epiphany, that I wasn't enjoying the game at all. I'll take a break for a few weeks and then come back to it.
14-0 so far in the weekend league, this is going great. Gameplay is awful right now, as usual on a saturday evening, but I’m still managing to scrape together wins.

Gonna sell it all, will get around £100 for it, then thats me done with the game.

I was playing 30 games every weekend since it came out and like you say, it became a chore. Playing a slower paced red dead for a couple of weeks should have me back in the mood to play. If they had made improvements to pro clubs I'd probably just switch over to that as it's a much more fun game mode to play.

Auba is decent, I won 15 games in a row after 2 defeats with him in team, he can score but he can make a lot of assists for everyone, he just add different dimensions to attacking, off the movement, he's pacy and outrun defender behind to receive a pass and lay it off to other players to shot so goalkeeper cannot save that.
Played 5 games last night, battered the oppo in all 5 won two one game i was 1-0 up going into injury time comfortably seeing it out then Hazard miscontrols a ball in Bakayoko esque fashion, they counter, level, in ET i hit the woodwork twice, their keeper makes 2 saves that makes Kepa's from Mane look shite and they score from a long punt because VVD and (Halloween card) Ampadu bump into eachother.
I could maybe take this bullshit scripting if i got it back as much as i fall victim to it but i don't, whenever i play crap and/or stumble across a better player it's always reflected in the score, it's like im being punished for actually being good at the game.

Its one thing I don't get either. Think I've probably won 2 games were I was the worse player. Must have lost over 100 where I was the better player though.
Can see it now, but meant in general as in I’m going to continue losing. I usually do really well in the first half of the weekend league and then my record in the second half is average. 17-2 is good, but it’d be typical for me to lose every other or every third game for the rest of the wl. It’s just a bit annoying since I’m trying to reach Elite 1/top 100, but it also makes sense given the way the matchmaking works.Next weekend I’m going to play all 30 games on friday, I think that’ll match me up against easier opponents in the second half of the WL.

Everyone seems to have the same problems which is really strange. It just seems to kick in at different tiers for different people.
I'm usually on course for elite 3 / gold 1. Then just when I think it's definitely possible I'll go on a losing streak. Once gold 1 is out of the question I'll then win all my remaining games to finish gold 2 with 2 games to spare.
You could argue that United used to play that formation under Fergie

Anyone else notice how some players can be incredibly inconsistent? Noticed it with Lukaku a few weeks ago. He was tearing it up for 10-15 games during the start of the weekend league, averaging around two goals a game. Then all of a sudden he became useless, similar to how he plays for United in real life these days.
I then noticed it this weekend league with Agüero. Same procedure, after a while his touch got heavy, he lost his agility and got pushed off the ball as if he had 20 strength.
I believe it’s one of those mechanisms related to scripting. I also believe it doesn’t happen with some players like icons and someone like Pogba. Maybe due to these kinds of players being popular among pros, to prevent them and youtubers from complaining and ranting about scripting. I have a friend who had the exact same experience with Lukaku.
He suggested switching the default formation before every game in order to ‘reset’ the team. I genuinely believe it’s made like this to make players feel that their teams have stalled or regressed so they’ll spend more fifa points to try and get a better team. Its a waste of time trying to play in the day time as the input lag is horrible. I'm 13 wins and 6 losses, I have played 7 of those matches during the day time and 5 of them resulted in losses due to terrible button lag. Basically I can't play during the day.
I have only lost one game during the night time when the connection is responsive and these games have been against less casual players. Its so frustrating as the losses I have during the day with the input lag have been against not the best opponents too.

Gave up on this Fifa a couple weeks ago. Havent enjoyed playing it this year so can't be arsed playing the usual 100+ games it takes for me to get in rhythm. Thank feck I waited before going through with pumping loads of money in to the game

Been away for the week, got back Friday, my son had sold my entire team and spent 1m coins on packs lol, little fecker didn't even pack anyone decent. Played WL and went 1-8 at the start, waited till the middle of the night and got to 16 and 11. Had to play my last three games yesterday at peak time, bad lag ended up 16-14. Anyone else getting unplayable servers at times?
So yeah, I have no coins, no players except my untradables (which feature Rio, potm Hazard, potm Lucas and Casemiro). I really missed a decent keeper and striker this WL. IF Arnie, Lacazette, Depay or Werner just don't cut it and IF Pickford is absolutely shite in the nets.

Everyone selling up after WL to hoard coins for Black Friday so it will crash more, lots of people will buy at their cheapest on Thursday night/Friday before prices shoot back up the week after. If you sold your team a week ago you could buy the exact same players back 40-50% less Thursday/Friday. You might pick up Fabinho for under 60k, maybe as low as 50k and the week after he will be back to 70ish.
It doesn't have a huge effect on icons or the real top players ala CR7 etc.. but the good value meta-players like Fabinho, Van Dijk, Firminio, Jesus, Eriksen etc.. will be their cheapest till January and TotY

Guess I'm not the only one, I'm a pretty calm guy in general, but this game turns me into a cnut. I'm not the type to dab and be an asshole in game but two weeks in a row I've hopped my controller off the ground, I think my gf and kids are scared of me now and keep their distance Friday till I say "thank feck thats over" on Sunday. I played Squad Battles yesterday and the input lag was unbelievable... why do you even need to use servers to play a single player mode?
People play this game over the weekend only to torture themselves. Everything about the game is unfun, toxic and blatantly fixed. Utter thrash.

Gameplay has nosedived hard this week. Please don't say they've tweaked it in an update? The scripting is horrible. I'm literally creating clear cut chances and trying to absolutely make sure the finish is spot on, but it's like there's a magnet in the goal that repels the ball. It literally won't let you score at times. Eventually I just give up and grind it out to pens because that's what it wants.
1000%, I don't think its a patch or gameplay change, just the game servers are so fecking bad with input lag that the AI is reacting faster than the player. So the defender is getting a little closer and shots are missing by that normally go in. I got elite 2 is squad battles, worst ever and lost a game on world class, I had 35 shots of about which 7 were on target that normally go in. Game is broken because the servers are broken. Its a disgrace. If its not better for next weekend I'm trading it in and I'll get my kids something for the VR.
Finished on 16 wins, happy with that. Switching to 3-1-4-2 seems to have done the trick for me. I’m getting exposed down the wings but scoring plenty of goals to make up for it.
Am on 18 wins with a game to go but not going to bother as I can't reach 20 for gold 1. I needed 2 wins from 3 remaining games to get gold 1 and the guy I beat previously was mad and kept sending a party invite like every 3 seconds during the majority of the game, I guess to try and distract me and it worked annoyingly because I lost. Then needing to win the next game I went 5 0 down and the person kept pressing pause straight after he scored as to invite me to rage quit. He also was trying to take the piss by passing it to his keeper and doing kick ups etc. I was 5 0 down and determined to win, especially after he invited me to rage quit and I made it to 5 4 and even had a corner in stoppage time but didn't manage to get the goal. Think that would have been my sweetest win of all time if I manged to pull it off.
I managed a total of 6 games this weekend despite having all the time in the world. Feel so much better for not playing it. Instead I sunk some hours into RDR2 and chilled out riding my horse through some lovely scenery
So I’ve won the draft 6 times in a row (humblebrag) but packed one player worth more than 2k in that time, Brahimi who sold for 7.5k.
