Gaming FIFA 19

How's everyone getting on with the new rivals mode? I'm currently tier 1 but as more and more games get played I keep dropping down to 2. Going to have to try and play a feckload of games tonight to cement myself in there.

What division are you in? I got placed in division 5 and am probably going to stay rank 2. 10 hours left til rewards, but I'm at 8200 while rank 1 is at 10500 right now. Dropping out of rank 2 would be 5800 so I think I'm just safe in the middle. Would need to go on a really good run and play a ton to catch up with the rising points I think.

Question is which rewards to take? Twice as many packs but they would be untradable vs the tradable ones, or just the coins straight up. Rank 1 has 58k if you just take coins, 2 jumbo premium good packs, 1 rare players pack and apparently a mega pack if its tradable rewards, and twice each of those if its untradables.

Division 5 but I've been on a couple of runs of winning 5 or 6 games in a row. Flew up the tiers pretty quickly although my skill level hasn't really moved much at all

Untradables for me. Might possibly go for the tradable ones for the first couple of weeks whilst prices are high, but throughout the season I'll definitely be going untradable. Can just use most of them in SBCs if they don't fit my squad.

Fair. I have my 2 squads that I plan on rotating between and just building on with a few options so untradables would be pretty pointless unless I get really lucky. Basically going for a classic United squad and a Yugoslavian team, so unless I get Scholes, Giggs, modric, etc pretty useless.

Might take packs this week and then coins the rest of the time though, given the high prices.

The game is fine. It's not perfect and can do with a few tweaks. But I hope EA don't just cave in to the crybabies and give it a big overhaul like they have done in previous years. I don't trust EA to do big patches because whenever they do the game ends up being worse.

It's a new game and people need to adapt. Go play Fifa 18 if you don't want to.

I agree, now that I'm getting to grips with it I'm liking it more and more.

I actually am really enjoying it in it's current state. A few tweaks maybe but nothing OTT. I'm actually enjoying the pace and flow of the game and I'll be sickened if it's tweaked to suit the typical all players over 85 pace that it always seems to in the end.

Can’t score for the life of me. Current record 10-2-10

Yeah main things I would tweak would be bicycle kicks, corners a little bit, and lobbed through passes to the wingers. Rest seems okay so far.

Drilled through passes are just as bad. I'd probably slightly tone down the off the ball pace of attackers, corners are the same as last year with a smash front post resulting in a goal a game. Think everything is mostly alright apart from that to be honest. Most games are quite tight and I think the biggest improvement is skill level being shown instead of a division that you could luckily fall into.

Agree with this, I've played 7 games so far online in UT in Division Rivals and the games have been tense and chances have been few and far between. By far and away for me the most enjoyable online FIFA experience in years. I'm just praying they don't increase the pace of the game as it is close to perfection in it's current state.

Guys, where do I buy this in London? Do I have to weir for tomorrow?

Anyone else got severe lag issues? I can’t play an online game without outrageous stuttering every 10 seconds and my players ending up in completely different positions.

Feck it, I'm paying the premium of £20 to get it online

Does anyone else have timed finishing turned off? It's far easier to score that way. I was hammering people, having 10-15 shots on target but only scoring once. So I turned it off and finishing is far easier.

I think timed finishing is a bad idea. It's a super OP way for lesser players to score silly goals from ridiculous angles/distance. It will just close the skill gap because no matter how well you defend etc. you still have a chance of conceding a timed finesse which are way too overpowered. All other aspects of the game I really enjoy but I don't feel like this was a necessary change.

I can’t seem to find the timed-shot thingy everybody’s talking about. Also, these nice touches for turning away from defenders while recieving the ball, how do I do it? (PS4)

I've considered doing it loads, but surely it's just the same as not double tapping the shoot button no?

It shows above the player's head if you have the indicators on. Think I've only scored once using it. Most of the goals I've scored haven't needed it.

Just bought an Xbox on my break at work... fecker for fifa! I got the champions edition, will I get packs when I load up? Not putting a penny into FUT so hoping to be given something to get me up and running.

A lot of changes in regards to buttons @P-Nut0712 ?

Pretty much, yes. But there are advantages.. There are times when you're mashing the button to head the ball, shoot in a close position in the box, etc. which are things I've had far more success with since disabling it. Also, as more of a mental thing, I'm not constantly considering which shots to take as time shots, meaning my shot selections are more efficient.

Can you buy it online as from midnight tonight? Might stay up and play a few games if that's the case (and if it doesn't take forever to purchase/download).

Does Fred have his actual face in the full game? In the demo he got generic face.

I think I’m going to give this a go. Totally agree with it being a mental thing, I’m not just instinctively shooting anymore I’m thinking about timing it right and it’s making me feck so many easy finishes up.

Online it was released on Tuesday with the pre order that you can probably still do, in stores its Friday.

Not too many button changes really. The biggest change is the timed finishing if you choose to utilise it really. Be good to finally have someone on here that plays the Xbox version.

Do you use the timed finish yourself? Just reading some people saying they knocked it off... I'm guessing its like a ball rolling towads your man and you time it right to shoot just? I wont get to play much at all to be fair but be happy with a few hours a week. From 7am-8pm is completely off limits and be shattered at nights now

Feck me, thought the pre-ordering thing had to be done before Tuesday. Cheers, gonna try it as soon as I get home from work today.

It's worth trying for sure. I have won both draft entries since I made the change.

Just packed de Bruyne from an SBC pack, currently going for 340k! I think he will rise so I'm not going to sell him yet.

Never mind, standard edition even pre order is friday, the upgraded editions were sooner!

Go look at Fred's face.

I ask the same question every year but what are some beginner tips for Ultimate Team? I’ve played a few games and actually enjoyed it but it always feels like such a grind.

Have 7k coins and buildings an all English team (I’m sure people advised against that in previous years but I’ve started now I guess).
