It's got even worse then! I remember a few years back you only needed about 14 goals to win the golden boot (by the time my team got good the top 3 scorers in the league were usually all mine), and teams would by a shitload of players in the same position.

Honestly, as someone who hated 17 and thought 18 was nothing more than decent, I can’t recommend 19 enough.

It’s 18 with the polish it needed and the added depth of the tactics system.

It’s quite buggy in places (outside of gameplay - formations and control configuration not saving etc) but that should get a day one patch I hope.

Been doing this myself but couldn't get it to work yesterday, probably fixed.

Still got around 6 hours left of the trial though.
 
Said I wouldn't be playing Fifa for a few years now that I have a child, but trying to convince myself I could play clubs with the mates a few hours a week..... How is pro clubs???? Good to see people say this game is an upgrade on 18 and 17

What about the broken mechanics off the pitch though? Such as unrealistic results/tables/transfers?

Honestly until that stuff is fixed, the mode it broken no matter how much the AI has improved. In FIFA 18 I had United, Arsenal and Liverpool fighting for 8th place. Ridiculous.

You will never ever get very realistic standings, even in games like Football Manager that purely concentrate on simulation and realism you can see stuff like that.
 
I remember Stoke were always like 3rd in the previous FIFAs.

Exactly the same unfortunately. Bournemouth fighting for top 4, City out of the top 6 and Arsenal in the bottom half. This is in season 1.

Doesn’t bother me as much though when you consider that the other option is Master League.
 
So people who have pre-ordered Champions Edition get 3 days early access, meaning they should be able to get it tomorrow. How does this work for those who pre-ordered a hard copy? Do they collect it from the shop tomorrow?

I can remember Fifa 10-something like 13 having realistic results and standings and genuine title races going to the final day. It’s whenever they brought in the form shite, that the big teams started going on ridiculous strings of losses. EA are just being lazy bastards, no excuse.

Well that’s my mind pretty much made up. EA can go do one. If they can’t even be bothered to test career mode and fix something so blatantly flawed before releasing the game, why should I fork out €70. In my opinion, it’s a massive bug that that they haven’t addressed for years. What other company gets away with that shite?

I hate EA and I am skipping FIFA 19 but it's not just FIFA's issue. Literally every football game around has this problem. FIFA, PES, FM. All of them.

It doesn't even seem like it would be that hard. Just set it so that the top 6 win maybe 60-70% of the time. Yeah it might look weird 10 years into a game but people rarely play that far.

And we’re letting them get away with it by still buying their games, unfinished and riddled with bugs. Why are people settling for this? To me, these issues are literally the equivalent of those game ruining bugs that happen at the launch of big titles such as TW3, The Elder Scrolls and GTA. Except these developers actually work their ass off and listen to their customers to fix them after launch. Meanwhile EA can just release a massive title with half arsed and untested game modes because it’s the only football game with licenses on the market, and they know people will buy it regardless. That honestly makes me sick the older I get, feck their bullshit at this point.

EA won’t do something as simple as probably flipping a switch, until they’re forced to. Until their sales take a hit. I love how they’ve added a new Ultimate difficulty too to career mode as a new feature, as if they couldn’t have added it five titles ago.

Apologies if I’ve dampened the mood, hope you all enjoy the game. I’m more angry at the fact that I won’t be buying a football game this year. The release of a new Fifa was honestly like the buildup to Christmas day as a kid. I just can’t do it anymore though, I hate everything that EA stand for these days.

Doing a first owner RTG this year. Got some decent luck to start off with, got a nice solid base to start grinding SB and Rivals with. Kinda have to go with a La Liga setup with the players that I got.

This is my team after doing the hybrid nations SBC on the web app. Not much more I can do now until I get on the game in the morning!

I've heard AI assisted defending online is still as OP as ever, therefore it'll be first FIFA since 06 I won't be buying, well played EA.
 
How does rivals work? I’ve played 7, won 5 and lost 2. My starting division was 5 and I’ve won the first 2 games but I’ve only got 65 points for each win and you need 2300(?) to qualify for the weekend league?! Gunna take forever
