Fifa often feels like the old Gran Turismo, where the power of your vehicle disappears to allow your opponent to catch up and ultimately they take over before they are stuck with the same restrictions.
It is a terrible set-up as it takes away from the work done by the player to get ahead in the first place.
You get that in gta online racing as well, at least you can turn that shot off though!

Switched from Scream Forster to Courtois and there's a big difference. Forsters inconsistency cost me too many games. Courtois is really really good, and one of the so far three keepers this year that I actually like. He's a small tier below Perin and De Gea on the line, but he comes out to catch every cross, and he throws and kicks really far which is very useful.
A question for the pros here:
Are you more likely to get an IF player just after the TOTW is announced or is the probability equal at any time during the week?

I'd be very surprised if the latter isn't the case.
Because whenever I've got an IF in packs (which has been just a handful of times) it has mostly been within a couple of hours from their release and hence was thinking if that may be the case
Changed up my team so I could get Rui Costa.
New team is much lower rated but plays much better. Departing my team are Alexis (the cash for him bought Mbappe and Dembele), Hero Salah (some games was great but his poor weak foot kept driving me mental), Kane (too slow but would make an excellent CAM), Gundogan (was actually great for me but he's no Rui Costa.) If Kolasnic and Untradable Walker were sacrificed to bring in Rui Costa. My team is now much pacier (and much more WL compatible) unfortunately is become very much like 95% of others.
Now lining up like this. Any upgrade recommendations. Playing a 4321 formation. Thinking next port of call might be Kante for Bakayoko for the cental midfield/holding spot. Then I think I'll move on Azpi, he's brilliant at everything but just a little small and gets caned in the air from goal kicks.

Yeah I just swapped to Courtois and his coming for crosses helps massively. Stopped conceding bullshit corners now
I'd have Courtois for Lloris, especially since your CBs are a bit weak in the air. He comes out to catch every cross. Also Valencia for Bellerin? Alli or Matic for Eriksen?
How much does prime Costa cost? And is he worth it? Had his second best card a while ago, wasn't really that impressed.
He feels like the best player I've used in game so far but I'm not really one for dribbling and skills, I like to pass to death. Also I'm kind of shit at the game lol, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. For me he retains the ball in the tackle where Erikson and Gundogan don't. He's much better in the tackle but what really works for me is his fake shot just seems to always come off better and smoother and in a perfect position to shoot or pass, then any other player in game for me (so he's great in squad battles).
Edit: He's not the best finisher and he's probably better shooting from 20+ yards than inside the box.
According to Futbin around 570k but I would say maybe 350k is the cost max, espcially if you have 83 rated players and Calcio A players lying around. I had 200k when I started getting him and between making the changes I said above to my team and selling on pack players, about 10k worth of Bronze Pack Method (Ligue 1 junk is going for a fortune). I made the changes about and finished with 60k left so I'd say all in he's cost me between 300-350k (which is looking a steal atm).
I think on the market he goes for around £1m is you'd prefer him tradeable.
Thanks for the tips on upgrading my team. I tried Alli but didn't really like him, I might go with Matic for Erikson. If I sell LLoris and Eriksen, it will net me 150k plus. I can bring in Courtois, Matic and Valencia for 138 so that would be a good exchange and see me have 15k more towards Kante. I think I'll try that. Thanks again.

Eriksen is a beast, only players I'd swap him for would be De Bruyne or Pogba from the BPL. Just sold Alli myself, nothing special about him really and his passing isn't great.
He was special before the updates when shooting was easier. Scored so many finesse shots for me from outside the box, but yeah I can see him being a bit average these days. Maybe I’ll try Eriksen.

Did you actually switch away from 4-3-3(4)? You should try 4-3-2-1 if that doesn’t work for you. It has perfect width up front, making attacking options more varied than the very one-dimentional two striker formations. If you hated it in Fifa 17, don’t worry. It’s not the same formation.@Eddy_JukeZ whats this about ovvy and krasi cheating. I remember watching their tutorials a few years ago. Didn’t think they would stoop to a new low.

I was going to go 4321 but tried it a few times and wasn't feeling it.
With the pace in the 4312 it feels good and I've always got the player in the middle of the pitch instead of picking it up wide.
433(4) was getting torn apart on the counter game after game after dominating so I'm going to try something different. No doubt I'll get annoyed during WL and want to change it again.
Yeah, he's just blasting in the goals for me too. I still don't enjoy him much on the ball, but he just scores buckets and buckets of goals. I think he has something like 72 goals in 33 games. DKT, WL and Squad Battles on Legendary.
I should have bought CR7 when I had the chance. His price has gone up 500k since.

Sergio Ramos doesn’t feel great at all for me, I tend to play better with beast defenders anyway. I packed him Good Friday so I might sell on. I have Marcelo left back, so thinking of getting David Luiz instead as I have IF Neto in goal too, so would be good for chemistry.

I made the switch too, i went for 89 VDS though. One of my favourite keepers irl, and he links to anyone of course (but gets strong links to the 2 dutch cbs I use). He saves almost everything, and the number of angry messages has increased drastically since i got him.
Bought about 40 Jonathon Dos Santos for discard yesterday before the SBC, he must have one of the highest card weights in the game and the one player who hasn’t risen. So many of him on the market. Not very good at this investing thing.
I think I’m ready to pack this in and move back to career mode. It’s just not as fun as it once was.

You’ve got to look a few weeks in advance. It’s pointless investing in today’s MM, for example. Look at next weeks and you can pick up 100 of a non-rare Gold at 400, then get 800-1000 when it drops, double that if you’re lucky (I did well with the Russian MM, Zenit golds were 2.5k each).
That’s 40k - 200k a week and it’s zero risk.
What have they done to squad battles? I have been finishing in Elite 2 every week in the last month with playing 35 - 40 games a week and winning around 80-90% of them on legendary but since yesterday I'm struggling like hell. I have only managed to win 2 of my 6 games played so far this week, one penalty win and a 2-1 win against a 50 chem team. My players are just so slow and even when they are under no pressure they misplace the easiest of passes. I tried to play an online divisions game straight after the last SB game and it felt like I was playing with a completely different team.

Do you not find him too slow? Who do you use around him to balance it?
Squad battles is definately tougher this week. I'm easily in elite 1 but have found the going tougher on legendary. The computer now leave it late to go all out attack compared to before and if they go 1 nil up you will work your arse off to get the equaliser I find. That said I think I've lose 1 of 9 so far and in that I had 14 shots all saved by Buffon (2 of them from inside the 6 yard box.) and all inside the 18 yard box. Of course their goal came from a crazy undefendable Brazil 1970 counter attack.
I have him in a three man midfield with Kroos and Isco. Lacks a bit of pace, but for some reason it’s not troubling me at all. I dominate most games which might be why they work well for me. His freakishly long legs and height/strength makes him the perfect ball winner, and he feels surprisingly agile and smooth on the ball.
